controller type?

what way is everyone gonna play with just the joy-con, the joy-con grip, handheld mode/tv or pro controller?
-
Handheld and Joycon Grip.
-
Pro controller docked, HORI split pad pro while handheld. I might change to regular joycons when in handheld since the HORI controllers don't have rumble.
-
I have used pro controller and joy-con and both work. Pro controller obviously gives you more precision, but joy con will work well enough in handheld.
-
First tried it out docked with pro controller, then handheld using joy cons. Maybe it's just me, but the joy con control sticks don't rotate anywhere near smooth enough the effectively control your PCI when hitting. I feel pro controller is definitely the way to go.
-
Only used pro controller so far but plan to use handheld soon.

i wounder if they plan to make a custom pro controller or if i should just go buy a horipad and a split pad pro since my joy con drift

Get your Joycons fixed by Nintendo, but if you plan on playing mostly handheld, get a Split Pad Pro. If you play close enough to your TV, they're coming out with a new attachment for the Split Pad pro that allows you to use it as a wired controller and it has a headphone jack and stuff https://stores.horiusa.com/split-pad-pro-attachment-set-for-nintendo-switch/
I only use the Split Pad Pro anyway for handheld

Definitely, but it doesn't look like they're actually updating the Split Pad itself, just making a new bundle with the attachment so they would have to update the split pad to have rumble, which it does not (even though it should, but I don't know if that's Hori's decision).

There is a company on Amazon called Binbok that makes a good alternative Joycon that is similar to the Split pad but it does have rumble. It is an unlicensed controller and I heard they can be hit or miss. I don't personally own one but thought this might help.
