BR help....tips
-
Hi all, I am pretty new to online play and struggling with BR. I completed it last season for the first time and seemed to do a lot better than I am now.
My main problem is I'm not great at hitting. I can never complete the 10 point missions for 40 TB in an entry, 10 xbh etc.
Also, the series based missions are really hard compared to the player bases ones.
Any advice on how to draft, how to improve my hitting, how to approach BR etc?

If you're not a great hitter I would focus on drafting offense primarily and look for good value bullpen arms. With value I mean silver and bronze cards that play way above their stats, like rookie Chapman and LS Alex Reyes and so on. Don't waste your gold and diamond picks on starting pitchers, as a matter of fact I would usually only draft 2 or maybe 3 silver starters and when they have no energy you use a bullpen arm as an opener until their energy is restored.
Can't really give too many tips regarding hitting. I would usually advise to be patient and look for your pitch, but in BR I prefer to play aggressive and put pressure on my opponent right out the gates. I guess you could look for a certain pitch you hit well, but with only 3 innings you might not get that pitch.
The best advice I could give is to keep playing a lot and often. Your muscle memory and vision will improve over time.

To add on to the above post...
I draft power and contact (pretty much given for this game), but also want at least one, if not two, speed guys for the bench. Also, For commons and bad bronze selections, use a couple spots on the bench, a couple spots in the rotation, and the rest in the 'pen. Stack the top of the lineup, since it is a 3-inning game and those are the ones that will get a second AB.

Thanks, I finally got to 40 points haha.

a lot of it is feel and guys who click for you,
I usually go one silver sp, rest bronze or commons,
bullpen is key as someone mentioned the silver chapman, pedro, flashback cards etc are all vital since in BR I view any score for my opponent under 2 a win
hitting: get yourself the best 99 you clikc with and dont be shy about redoing: babe, griffey, tatis, tucker, soto
also outfielders are for the most part easy to come by so I slightly prefer infielding diamonds but still as above its about feel
for example: I love charlie blackmon silver, eloy jimenez gold, joc pederson( bronze I think), nick casteelanos gold to me has diamond quality hitting and plays OF and two corner positions,
hope it hhelps feel free to message me I can help you draft or do a draft and explain my process -
I always try and take a diamond defense catcher. It may be a waste but I feel better knowing I won’t have to worry about a lot of wild pitches passed balls.

I mean on all star against a human person you should square up a lot of pitches,
not swinging at balls is a giant key.
I use strike zone 2 with 50% transparency which helps.
for the most part people fall into routines: I.e high fastball low ball in dirt, high fb, low dirt.
improving sadly is just playing but imo the pitch you cant miss to hit is the mid lower change up/slider bc in mlb terms thats hanging. mainly tho is not swinging at everything. lmk if you need more tips -
