I’m relatively new to MLB the show so maybe I’m uninformed but I’m not the best at this game and it makes me wonder how people succeed and get all the good cards when every time I play anything online I’m getting put with 300-400 above my level. I will most likely never get the finest trae or the finest trout because it’s impossible for me to win 25-30 games. I don’t have all the time in the world to play either. I don’t think it’s possible for mediocre players like me to succeed at all when all the sweats get paired with you and not their own kind. There’s gotta be some secret right? What am I missing? Any help would be great 😊

If you’re talking about Ranked Seasons then when the screen is loading to find your opponent, hold the bar all the way to the left until you match with someone within your range. If you let it go Wild it can match you up with someone much higher/lower.

What was said above. Also, I’ve found that when I take theme teams or other non-god squad teams into ranked, I will often get matched with a less good opponent.

Granted, everyone has a god squad at this point, so even winning against poor players is challenging.

You don't have to play online much or at all to be successful and collect every card. My all time RS record is 8-41. 90% of those games were just me getting player program strike out missions and quitting. I can't stand online play much. Not because it's toxic or any of the other typical complaints. I'm just not good. And getting 1 to 3 hits a game isn't fun.

You need to get good at flipping cards from the app while doing other things. Do you ever watch football or baseball on TV? Download the app, turn on the game and you can flip from your phone while watching. In 3 hours you can half a million stubs or more.

BR is a really good program if you want to play online but aren't the best. You match against bronze, silver and gold pitchers, and there are multiple ways to get points for the program, not just wins. I was able to finish the last BR season which netted me about 1.5 million stubs.

I know it feels late, but the flipping is still decent, give it a shot. If you need advice on how to do it, feel free to DM me.

Lastly, grind RIB once a day if you can, showdown is quick, conquest is about an hour and those cards are selling for 50K right now. Do it 5 times a week and you've got 250k right there.

Everything these guys above said is true but if you want to circumvent all that, give these things a go.

Mod rating has been disabled for the last 4 years. The mod rating now only represents the strength of your squad relative to a players quirks and individual attributes combined with the rest of your squad. It does not affect matchmaking like it was intended to do when it was introduced in 2016 for the purpose stated by a previous poster because certain trolls would abuse it to be match up against inferior opponents to get easy wins.

At this point the only players who are playing are this game are the die hards who only play the show year in and year out so they are highly experienced and likely highly skilled or you are new to game and haven’t developed the skills needed to be competitive during the slow season. Good news for you, this is a great time to get good. Take your lumps and a learn. Pay attention to why you are being beaten and make adjustments. Don’t concern yourself with being competitive, concern yourself with improving against stiff competition.

So as far as matchmaking goes for RS right when you start matchmaking before it starts expanding the window press the left button on the d-pad to restrict it (you can then manually expand the rating window with left and right buttons) it’ll take longer to find a match but they’ll at least be in a smaller rating window, unfortunately that doesn’t stop you from matching up with guys that quit a bunch to be a low rating.

As far as flipping cards goes go to showzone.io they tell you what cards to flip and how much you’ll make.

Is this true if you keep pushing left it’ll match you up with someone closer to your ranking? Been playing RS for years and never knew this

    I understand your dilemma.
I'd rather lose 2-1 to someone in my Division than slaughter a Spring Training player...

    (Eh, who am I kidding)

I just learned it this year from CBrev on YouTube, been playing DD consistently since 18. You just have to press left once and it’ll hold it at the lower window then you can expand or shrink the window as you want.
