Why are they doing this?

I decided to venture into Events in hopes of acquiring Trea or Manny. I’m not that good, and while I’ve been losing in close games or that 1 pitch in the last inning, I’m still playing, trying to get better at hitting, etc…
So now I’m playing T_Watt2000 and he’s winning 2-0 after bottom 1st. Top 2nd, I have 1 out, Mantle hits a 479 foot bomb. Next hitter grounds out, and T_Watt is letting his player (Frank Thomas) just hold the ball. He’s just standing there, the pitcher is moving back and forth waiting for the ball and after 9 minutes (because I’m recording this) nothing is happening. Are they doing this in hopes I quit so they can win? Soooo, this is how cowards play? I took my losses like a man, I mean, it’s a video game right? I had a good game going last night and was making an extra inning comeback until my wife came in and started telling me that all of a sudden we’re going out to dinner now with some friends…threw my whole flow off and I ended up losing. I didn’t quit although I was pissed off. I mean c’mon maaaan. I’ve played maybe 8 games and they all were no nonsense games until this [censored]. -
Just so you know it's against forum ToS to directly name players
Also it wasn't the player, you got in a freeze off, he did not cause it.

That's unbelievable.
Your opponent probably thought you were a no skill scrub who has to hold out in freeze offs to get wins. Quitting freeze offs when down is common courtesy, especially in events where there is no rating loss.

First I apologize for naming names; It wasn’t my intention to break TOS. Second, I’ve mentioned many times in the past about playing online as I’m strictly offline. So now I FINALLY decided to give it a go and play online. I never experienced a freeze off and never bothered to look it up since I haven’t played online. I’ll do my due diligence to get an understanding of it. But I’llm not understanding how if I’m losing 2-0 the game continues on fine, I hit a HR, the score is 2-1 and now there’s a feeeze off. Oh by the way, I did turn a triple play on him/her.. not too shabby for a scrub I would guess. My apologies T….

My advice is to ignore tactics from opponents especially in events where every win matters. Way faster to back out and get the next win rather than sit in a freeze off with someone who thrives on glitchy wins. Good luck on getting Trea Turner!
