First year player who FINALLY understands the concept of buy and sell orders!
Started flipping cards about two weeks ago based on advice from the “old timers “ on these forums.
Literally went from 100k in stubs to 2 million by flipping live series diamonds and Finest cards. Thank you all for the tips
Need another tip! I decided to branch out and try flipping other cards. Bought a Josh bell 99 and a Dave Parker 99, looking to flip them. Needless to say, their prices have plummeted to about a third of what I bought them for. Ugh.
What to do? I can lock them in to my Collections, eat the cost and chalk down to experience! I can sell them at “ current prices”. Or I can be very patient sell them at a much higher price to “break even”.
What do you who flip a lot say?
Thanks!!

There are a lot of lessons to learn when flipping that you should be able to take into next years game. First is that flipping late in the year is a lot easier than the first several months. I personally steer clear of rare cards unless I know something is about to occur that will make the prices skyrocket and not plummet. This year I stuck with diamond equipment as the ebb and flow was consistent and I was willing to be patient. Don't forget that flipping is just a tool to get the cards and shouldn't become something that takes time away from playing the game.

Always remember cards that are currently still obtainable usually drop in price as more players obtain them and quite fast I might add ,
best cards to flip are before collections drop any and all gold and silver veterans , rookie, All-star and breakout cards sky rocket once the collection is dropped.

OP next year try investing in cards. Its far more profitable than flipping and you're basically making stubs without doing anything. The profits are higher (albeit slower) and you're not wasting time actively in the market.
Cards to invest in for 2022
Pre-order cards
1st inning golds/silvers
Any silver to gold LS player or gold to diamond LS player. We are talking about big big stubs. I made probably around 5m total just from investments this year. This doesn't include general gameplay and when I was actually flipping.

That’s not happening till mid 22, if ever.
Lesson learned: don’t invest heavily on henchmen less than a week after release.

I flip henchmen, but you have to be smart about it. I only flip one of each at a time so I don't get burned as the price drops. Any time there is a new player program, conquest map, or any other way to get a large amount of XP, I sell and wait for the next dip. Buy them back and continue flipping.
My goal is to collect every card in the game anyway, so worst case scenario if I miss the drop and get caught holding the card, I just keep him and move onto another target. I've always made more flipping the card than the card is worth, so its always been a net gain for me.
I haven't flipped much recently since I think I have enough stubs to carry me through the rest of this year, but I flipped henchmen a few days ago for 10-15k per flip and they were moving at a decent clip.

Some very good advice given here. Investing is something that I've looked at, but didn't feel comfortable with as I don't follow MLB too closely. So anticipating the bronze to silver to gold to diamond movement would be well out of my comfort level. However, investing in cards BEFORE a new collection is released is something I frankly hadn't thought of. Great advice.
Looks like I'll take the hit on the two 99 cards I bought. Even though I'm taking a fairly large loss. I'll chalk it up to experience!
(Remember, first year player.....) What is the definition of a "henchmen"? I see that term used here a bunch in relation to certain cards.
Thanks all for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated.

Henchman are the cards released each program that are not one of the three main reward cards. You get them as you progress to 350k.

Topps now cards are the way to go flipping IMO

That’s a risk of buying players that are part of the current program. People will earn them and the price will plummet. If you hold them for a while their price will come back up some. I’m guessing you want stubs now though so that probably won’t help. People buy players they want and need.

Diamond equipment has been a safe flip for as long as I can remember. Early on it’s a great way not to lose stubs but they sell very slowly.
Early on I go for cards you can’t lose money on. So buy golds at near quick sell value or diamonds at near quick sell value.
It’s difficult to give advice on flipping this late in the year because it’s so easy and the margins are wide. Early in the year if you get next mlb the show will prove if you’ve learned anything about flipping.

At this stage in the game, look at live series diamonds top 13, you make about 8k a card and the turnaround is instant. I put a buy order in for Turner for 1M yesterday and recouped my stubs in a few hours playing on the app.
Please
after reading and don't tell the others.....oh no.
