When did Trey mancini become a pitcher?

So I was just playing a game against some guy when he puts in trey Mancini as a pinch hitter for his pitcher. All was normal until the next two innings because he was pitching for him. Idk What was up and thought it may be a glitch like leaving the game and the game might go on for a tiny bit before closing but or maybe he did a fast switch and named his CAP trey Mancini but realized it was real when I checked the pitchers card and it just showed his normal card in game. and this guy was trying to locate his 2 pitch repertoire of a 4 seam and change and went to bay one more time and quit the 3rd inning in because he was losing badly. Has anyone Else had this happen to them? I looked at the log after the game and it confirmed everything so I’m just confused.

Maybe he just didn’t want to use a reliever? The way this game is sometimes, even a position player can pitch well enough.
Or he just couldn’t be bothered lmao

Something odd is going on for sure. I was playing a game of Online Rated with the Sox and all of a sudden had my pitcher and first baseman get injured on back to back plays. Ok nbd. When moving players around in substitution, all of a sudden I lost my DH and a pitcher in my bullpen was catching. Daniel Palka on the mound. Couldn't remove him until he faced a batter. Glitchy. I've literally never played Online Rated so idk if that's a known issue or what, but super odd none the less.

That's actually a rule in baseball, if you shift a DH to another position, you lose the DH spot for the remainder of the game.

I must have inadvertently done that. Moved Wellington Castillo in not realizing neither him nor McCann had 1B as a secondary. A couple hits of the pen and a lot of second guessing later, I had Jace Fry in at catcher.
