Are events better/worse or incomparable to BR?
-
I finally bit the bullet and started the BR program thinking I would get crushed, feel frustrated and not get anywhere. I did get crushed sometimes, but I also improved and it's a really fun program. I'm now at 95 points and of course I hit a rough stretch and feel like B.Y. Kim against the Yankees in 2001, but I'll finish it eventually.
Anyway, I pitch decently, I'm really not a good hitter but getting a little better. Would I get smashed in Events? Is it worth a try and if so, any advice?
The advice I got on drafting in BR from you guys made a huge difference from how I approached it. So thanks.

Not to rush you and I know you only need 5 more points; but if you didn't know, the current program ends in 4-5 days

If you’re wondering if we banish people who lose an event game the answer is a resounding yes. Give events a try, all you can do is improve, I personally prefer BR over Events and RS. The game just plays better when there isn’t lineups full of guys with 100+ ratings.

Oh for sure. I plan to finish it today no matter how long it's takes hahaha. I just redrafted and got the 1 player I was missing for player missions, so I need either 3 wins or 6 TBs from Clint Frazier.

I should probably turn in my controller now haha.
Yeah, I like facing silver and gold arms in BR and not 99s. Also, I love the way it's set up almost like a real MLB team where you have 2 or 3 guys you really have to careful with when going through the lineup. I'll give Events a shot, I was pleasantly surprised with BR.

I’m like you in that I was hesitant to start online play. Started with BR and immediately wish I had played it sooner. Think I finished this round in about 3-4 days. Dabbling in the events now, got Noah from last event and just bought Kaline, got a handful of wins so far this event cycle. Started during the HOF event a couple back and didn’t do too well lol. Finding my groove now though and it’s fun, a bit challenging with loaded cards everywhere, but fun. Plus a lot of rewind packs which can save a lot of stubs

I think it depends on the event. Some I do really well in, some not so much. I'm guessing "sliders" are involved in the background, but that's a conspiracy theory on my part.
By far, I've enjoyed BR the most this year. I can hit with commons (!). I can pitch. The game is so much more fun when everyone only has a few diamonds on their team. Coupled with the reward path, it's my favorite mode.

It’s worth a try if you’re interested in the rewards. Personally, I’ve found very few Events to be worth the time, so that’s why I’d defer to BR, as I find the BR reward path to be much better, and I have limited time to play.
One issue you may have with Events is that the experience may largely be dependent on the lineup restrictions. I.e. - the majority end up having similar lineups and using the same few pitchers, so if it’s event that allows you to use some of the most dominate pitchers, it may not be all that fun, because you’re going to see those same guys over and over…though, there is a chance repetition may help you improve.
So, probably worth a true, but I think BR is superior this year,

I don't care for Events. Only time I used to play them is when I was trying for the H2H Daily XP and had the players available because I didn't want to ruin a BR draft.
I'm playing this one now because I got tired of doing Moments.
But if I keep getting error messages and messages about licenses not being verified; I'm just going to call it quits until the 10th.

This is why I like having maximum overall team caps for events. It causes everyone to strategies, use even more players you likely wouldn't use, and you see more lineup diversity.
I am glad they developed the BR program this year. It gave average players like me much more reason to play what is probably the best mode on this game.

I agree completely. I was able to finish the program which is set up quite nicely so that even the losses don't set you back much. Drafting is half the fun and at this stage, if I didn't get a team I was satisfied with, I'd just draft again. I got to play people who I could handle pretty easily, players who gave me a run for my money, and some who smashed me, but the beating was quick haha.
Is there going to be another BR in a few days?

How come there are so many threads about people announcing their entry into online play recently haha?
I think part of the reason online play is toxic is people act like they are going to war when they enter online play. You guys just need to chill and enjoy playing. It’s far more mentally engaging and satisfying to play a human opponent win or lose.
-
Hahahahaha, because it feels like war when you're new. Buuuuut, this wasn't intended to announce my launch into online play. I'm old enough to know that nobody cares what little old me is doing. I was just looking for feedback on whether Events is comparable. I do enjoy playing another person for sure. I don't enjoy games where we both just strike out over and over but thankfully, I didn't find that to be the case in BR.
Oh, and I am drinking a mocha Frappuccino which I've just posted on Instagram. Please like it.
