Now that we have a million pitchers that throw 102 and these crazy speed differentials, it really would be nice to be able to check your swing. Now, I’m not saying go back to last year where everything was a check. But it sure would be nice if they could find a way to find a happy medium and have it be somewhat realistic. There has to be a way to track a full input versus letting up halfway through pressing the button.

I dislike getting on a specific 'bandwagon', but from what I read, the change was made to appease the "on-line" community. I would be surprised if they changed it, as the 1st baseman still won't cover first on any OF hit for something like 5-straight years due to the whining from on-line players.

OF assist at first is a play that happens in real life every so often (lookin' your way, Casey), but since they changed it to stop a "cheesing" play in on-line games, it seems as though it will forever now be changed. Sorry, Furrillo, they don't care about your memory (or beating the Giants)!

I would expect now that this will never be changed.

To be fair, if the only two options for outfield assists at 1B are that they never happen or that they happen at an absurd rate, I’d much rather they just never happen. I had Trea Turner get thrown out at first from RF last year, which is one of the most unrealistic things I’ve ever seen in any MLB game.

If only there was an attribute on a players card that could be used to determine how well they can "Check" or not...like a discipline attribute...oh wait, we have that and it means literally nothing.

Haha true. In thi[censored]ting slump I’m in, I can’t time anything. Being able to properly check would help

Also, it doesn't seem like check swinging on contact swing is any better than regular. I thought it used to make a difference which swing type in terms of how easily you could check swing.

Well, it used to work until the online players complained because all the top tier cards were also all good at check swings.

This is definitely a change made for Online that hindered/hurt the offline players. Did I probably check swing too much? Yes. Did it hurt anyone that I did so offline? No. Not being able to check swing has made moments more difficult as well in my opinion
