1995 ALDS Game 5
-
I turned on the television this morning and ended up watching MLB’s 20 Greatest Games for over an hour. I had forgotten there were so many great players in this game. Veterans, rookies, stars, specialist role players. Cone threw 147 pitches. Rookie Rivera relieves him and shuts down SEA. A-Rod pinch running. Big Unit pitching relief. Fun to relive this game.
Side note: The Show needs more 90s legends.

That's funny, I'm reading a book about that M's team and they are talking about game 5. best game in Mariners history.
Sidenote: Agreed.

I lived through all that and it's still fun to rewatch those games. Like you, I will stop and lock in on these classic games.
I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think the 90s have been well represented. There are a few big names that would be nice to include though. Personally I would enjoy having more players from before the 70s.

I mainly think the starting pitchers are lacking. Big Unit, Kevin Brown, Cone, Nomo, Appier, Pettitte, Mussina. A few of these guys would be nice. I think Kevin Brown’s pitch mix in particular would make him elite for The Show.
