Double crash
-
I think Finest has brought back a lot of gamers who had moved on to other games, and the increased market activity has brought about a market correction. The prices were higher because of less market participants. I would say the prices will stay low and steady today and throughout the weekend-- that is as long as the collection reward is either Griffey Jr or Trout, otherwise hang on cause it will be a bumpy ride.

I'd say unless this last collection player is just insane I don't think he'll be worth it. I'd love a maxed out Pepe Alazar but I doubt they'll ever bring him back. The only collection card that has gotten a lot of miles for me is Jackie. Everyone else I used for a few games and went to someone else.
Really? Mookie still crushes it for me but agree 100% on Kershaw. He was good to use last year (at least for me) but gets knocked around big time this year.

Still makes no sense to me that there is a market crash caused by Finest sets that contain cards that will not be used for the Finest collection. This is especially true when TA5 cards needed for the big collection are falling in price a bit.
Look at the buy/sell orders, though. For several Live Series cards, there is an ungodly amount of sell orders at a price that severely undercuts the next-highest sell order. The market is crashing because of these bad actors, or they're a contributing factor.
Would you like some cheese with that whine? It’s not “bad actors”, it’s people who want to sell a card quickly and don’t want to deal with resubmitting the order every time someone undercuts by a stub. Most of us don’t care about flipping/flippers and are just looking to have fun with a baseball video game.
I understand, the reason I said that was because there was some troll in another threat going on about undercutting with several orders. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Look people, the market always drops before big content drops. Once the content drops and we know exactly what will be needed for these collections then the market will rebound. The key is to not sell right now. Instead you should be buying up affordable cards which will make attaining the collection easier once it drops.

Shhhhh....don't tell them this, I like buying guys like Yelich and Hamels for half the cost and making a tidy .
The second crash is coming people....run for your lives and sell me all your goodies.

I've been using Mookie for the last week or so again. It took me a while to get used to his swing but I'm hitting good with him now. Kershaw gets knocked around for sure.

Yep, they all crashed quite a bit more. I spent 2 mill stubs on Tuesday. Should have waited until today. Now, hopefully, I can make back some tomorrow with a rebound and too much inventory for collections

Pretty sure they'll be needed for the new collection. They don't have a spot for them in the Mookie or Kershaw collections because there were only a handful at the time.
But I'll bet they add TWO vouchers to the big collection. One for Classic Finest and one for the 2021 Finest ala ASG Ohtani and 42 Jackie.
This last collection is going to be HUGE.
Ex: Right now you need a total of 20 Sig Series cards to get everyone inc Kershaw.
Yet there are 52 available that can be collected (sellable and non-sellable)
Chances are the collection dropping Fri will probability require you to collect at least 40 Sig cards.
I would even go as far to say that it wouldn't surprise me if you would need almost 99% of all Legends and Flashbacks available.
They aren’t going to require 99% of legends and flashbacks lmao. The whole theme of content this year is that everything is attainable. Requiring 99% would simply be too difficult, or even impossible, for too many people.
Every card being obtainable for the majority of the player base is why we haven’t gotten an Extreme program this year too.Would have been until the crash, every card is attainable for everyone now haha. I am with you though I doubt its 99% needed.
There is no chance I can own every card, even with the crash. Not even 99%. I don’t get what is funny though. I do agree that it won’t be needed though.

Every card being obtainable for the majority of the player base is why we haven’t gotten an Extreme program this year too. They aren't likely to require 99% of legends for the collection, but it's hardly laughable. You said it yourself. The whole theme of this year is that everything is attainable. BR and ranked season programs which eliminated the 1 million stub lines from last year. Silver and gold flashbacks come back in every BR program leading to a much better supply than we have ever seen. Even previously timed exclusive cards from daily moments are obtainable this month with moments that don't expire, and we know the bosses will probably come back at some point like they did last year.
The real issue is that they might not have anyone left to justify that big of a collection. Even a 99 Griffey would have to be juiced a bit compared to what we got last year to justify that kind of stub commitment, and even then they've made so many other cards with ridiculous attributes that the average person might not care.
Kershaw required a pretty steep stub commitment and he's done nothing but collect dust for me.
Obviously this final one should be better, but no guarantee it's the best card in the game.
I hope it is great, but I'm also prepared for disappointment.
I just hope it is not Ken Griffey Jr.

I’m fairly new to Diamond Dynasty… can someone explain to me why Finest is causing such a huge crash on end game cards like Gehrig, Gossage, etc?

A few possible reasons:
- people like playing with current players more than legends
- finest are so juiced they are the best cards in the game (remember they get active quirks)
- the “big collection” isn’t a draw to nearly as many people as you think (especially with how good finest are). Unless it’s Griffey (or maybe trout), the finest cards will be better/more desired.
- in market crashes, selling begets more selling. Cards don’t have any intrinsic value like a stock might
- “end game cards” are far more available this year with the programs and thus in far greater supply
