Do you play the game with the sound on?
-
I personally mute it and listen to my records or listen to Grateful Dead and Phish shows while playing. I know sometimes you miss cues for defensive misplays and things of that nature, but the in-game sound effects and music just get so repetitive after awhile that I like to listen to my own stuff while I play.
-
not sure why every discussion needs to be in DD, but yes I play with sound ON commentators OFF
-
I hate the commentators, they say the same lines over and over.

Excellent choice of music to listen to while playing this game. I do the same. The only thing I miss with the sound down is the heads up when a runner is stealing against me. Other than that, I'll trade the repetitive music and commentary for some Dead and Phish anyday.

Sean....is that you? Just kidding, but I actually just did the same thing. My friend (Sean) took me to see Dead and Co. For the first time (his 30th or something crazy) in October and I was blown away. So I went and bought some old records: American Beauty, Shakedown Street, workingman's dead etc. And it is a great backdrop when playing the game. Though I will never grow tired of Matty V and DeRosa clowning on my swing when I'm off.
Rock n Roll and Baseball. The greatest duo since ketchup and mustard.
-
Nope, I play with music and no game sounds most of the time.
-
I play on mute so I can watch sports or shows/movies on the other screen.
-
Grateful dead and Phish? Eeeeek! 🤯
If you play with the sound off you'll miss great calls like this: https://youtu.be/pghJYFucQxQ
Late nights, I play music while playing NHL, though. -

Music and NHL or NBA go well together depending on the music.

Haha....nope, not Sean, sorry. That's awesome though that you decided to go with your buddy to the Dead and Co. show! Even more awesome that it was your first time and you enjoyed yourself. We always have room for one more on the bus so welcome aboard! The Dead's studio albums are great listens, especially if you want to get familiar with some of their songs. That being said live Dead is where it's at. The studio albums don't do The Grateful Dead justice when it comes to the experience. If you have a chance to pick up some Dead shows that's the way to do it. I've got hundreds and hundreds myself and am always excited to give a new one a listen when I come across one.

i dont know how it is against people, but against the cpu ,especially in moments, the cpu cheats and you rarely hear them call out a stealer when the cpu is going.
so your not missing much. -
No sound. Usually listening to music or have Netflix going. Only time I really miss sound is on steals if I am not paying full attention. If I have a good netflix show going you can probably steal ever base in me including home plate.

I like them, just kidding. 'Shakedown Street' is my favorite song by them. My top 3 Rock bands are Van Halen, Overkill, and Dream Theater.
I listen to all music, though with classic R & B being my 2nd favorite music after Rock.
When I listen, I use my Spotify or fone music player playlist. -
Turn commentary off. Turn sound down on screen. You can turn the controller sound up for cues, I believe. But those are things you do in collaboration with PlayStation settings and game settings to get the right balance.
I will play Spotify in the background of the game.

I've played this game a ton, especially with DD over the past 5 years, and a few weeks ago I heard some line I had never heard before. I should have written it down because I don't remember what it was, but I was definitely surprised and it threw me off for the rest of the inning.
-
mute the tv, and just play music, dont need anything more

This man knows what he is talking about. I listening to Spotify, announcers are off and most of the other sounds of the game are low enough to where I can hear them in the background but the sound stays focused on my music.

Eddie Van Halen is definitely on the Mount Rushmore of best guitarists ever.
-
I turn everything off and than have a live mlb baseball game playing in my earbuds. This makes everything extremely more difficult, confusing, frustrating and disoriented. I wouldn't recommend this and it is not remotely enjoyable..........................
-
I mute everything besides the sound effects, which makes the ballgame so relaxing, just hearing the ball hit the glove or off the bat.
-
I leave the sound on, and always try to quickly plug my ears when I strike out with frank thomas. Because you know what’s coming
