All of the tanked cards like 99 Lindor.

I have been collecting most cards 200 K and below along with Arenado, Harper, Bellinger, Chapman…..big ticket cards I actually want to use.
My point is I took a pretty big overall hit with the market crash in the value of my inventory. I haven’t played the last couple of years and have no experience with the final collection.
Is it safe to assume a lot of these collection cards will gain value when the final collection drops? I’m not really looking to invest, just curious. Previously the TA programs had collection cards in them to help toward the collections, but this time they will all be finest players. To me it seems like a recipe for the cards like Lindor and Verlander to go up considerably Friday?
-
This was a strange crash and part of me thinks it was engineered to make collection cards more affordable for people. Perhaps that’s too “conspiracy theory” but I don’t understand how 1 Finest pack could have such a broad reaching effect.
But to your question, prices will eventually rebound yes. A collection on Friday would go a long way but regardless TA5 will get people a lot of stubs and those stubs will go to cards they don’t have. I’m staying out of this market but only because I already have every card and more stubs than I could ever use. If I wasn’t in that place, I’d be buying.
But, you generally get a better ROI on less expensive cards than the big fish if you were just looking to make stubs.

It does seem odd, especially since none of the cards would really crack a lineup. I think you may be on to something…wouldn’t be hard for them to flood the market on their end listing cards that were not earned to lower prices.

I think the crash was sparked by everyone losing their minds for 30k packs. In the end I stocked up on a few cards should the market pull itself from the toilet, and if it doesn’t I don’t mind its the end of the year and stubs don’t carry over.

Exactly. Seeing all the high end cards but also all the Headliners, RIB, heck everything tank all at once just raises an eyebrow. Drastic sell off when the market should be going the other way as people prep for a collection. It’s not rationale and while there a bunch of non-finance people playing, markets generally behave rationally. The only thing that causes shocks is new info. In this case, new cards but to your point these cards might be fun but they aren’t making anyone’s top squad so I come back to something else caused this crash…..

I just noticed how cheap everything was today. Can pretty much buy anything I want at this point. Except chipper Jones lol

Someone or multiple people have to be responsible for this. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has noticed! It sucks because this crash is happening right in the middle of my market “rags to riches” quest.
I don’t get how someone can place 75 sell orders for the same price, and said price undercuts the next highest sell order by a large margin. It’s unfair. I was making stubs by flipping common and bronze live series cards. Now I can’t make a profit. This has to stop.

I think itll jump back, but like you I have no interest to invest, I bought cards I think I may wanna use for less and can have fun with. im purposfully not playing ranked so I can enjoy 4-5 games at 500 level once this season ends with new cards

Too bad stubs didn't carry over. I just had on '20 for a bit to try the Gehrig 4XBH in Extreme again and had 272K. Not a lot but wish I could transfer them to '21 🤪
