I feel your pain. I'm working on TA progress and was using Gold Kolten Wong during the AL/NL Central Conquest Map; because I needed 'X' amount of hits with him (I think it is 6) and I made it the WHOLE way thru the Map, playing the Steal Fans and Stronghold levels) and STILL need 2 hits with him.
Not because I couldn't hit with his card. But because the pitcher wouldn't throw him strikes.

For the sake of completeness, in the entire 3 inning game, the ai threw 10 out of 35 pitches in the zone, for a massive 28%.
Wondering, did you take walks and get baserunners and if so, what were the outcomes in those innings? And did you end up winning?
ie was it setting you up for a win or a loss.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose if you're trying for missions that involve hitting and that player gets walked it even worse, stuck out, because you have to swing at a pitch outside the zone so you don't get walked.
Like I said in my previous post; I went 10 games with Gold Kolten Wong and gor maybe 2 of the 6 hits I needed because I didn't get any pitches to swing at.
Heck, I think I even hit the PA appearances missions twice before I could get 6 hittable pitches.

I lost 1-0 on an Adam Duvall pp bomb off a pretty confident Walker Buehler.
I had no walks, no hits and two strikeouts over three innings. There was one diving stop from the shift double play, one sliding defensive grab at short and a diving stop at first base.

Sounds like conquest doing its usual random choose a game to make impossible to win thing and it wasn’t your turn to win
-
I think you are correct. Some of the pitches were so far out of the zone, if there was a bull, he would have been hit.

lol git gud
-
I’m sorry but it’s conquest. Come on! Just play until you win. Mode is incredibly easy.
-
I knew there would be a “git gud” comment. Some of you have far too much time invested to be anywhere near objective on this.
The point is, no matter how “gud” you get, the game will follow its programming and sometimes you will win and sometimes you will lose.
And Quincy, you are also missing the point. Obviously I will clear the map by playing enough games. That does not change the fact that the game is programmed to make sure you lose now and then.
If I want to take pitches in the dirt over and over waiting for a pitch to hit, I can play ranked.

I know sometimes you can get some bad luck against the cpu, but c'mon dude, it's conquest against the cpu on I'm assuming all-star or lower. It's not hard to win. If you lose against the cpu you have no one to blame but yourself, sorry.
-
Again. Missing the point.
I’m not complaining about losing a conquest game. I’m pointing out that the gameplay is terrible. If you guys are ok with 15% of pitches in the zone, you must have more free time than I do. -

In my experience if you get into hitters counts against the cpu they'll either throw you meatballs or walk you. Or just move on to the next game. I've never had a problem against the cpu big enough to complain about.

Surprised it's that many

I wish they still showed swing % on your universal profile. I bet I'm at 90-95% lol.

Was that even that accurate back in the day? Wasn’t it only based off of your last 100 abs

IDK, but I was always extremely high swing% when they used to show it.

Again, thanks for putting words in my mouth. I am not complaining that the ai is not throwing me meatballs. I am expressing my opinion that five of thirty pitches in the strike zone over three innings is not enough, not realistic, and makes for bad gameplay.
I have been playing this game for years and I do not like the direction it has been going over the last three iterations. Obviously, you can have a different opinion, but the old “git gud” shaming is just irrelevant to the post.
