Please SDS, please stop with timed innings programs. Even with Quad XP, there is very little chance of me making it to the bosses.
This will be the third one in a row I've missed out on.
Can you just stop putting a time limit on everything, please.
I know I will get swamped with, "it's so easy to get there", but it's actually not if you have a number of commitments and not a lot of time to play.
I know it won't matter to anyone, but I'm seriously considering making this my last version of the show. My time is my time, SDS, and it is valuable to me. I'm sick being timed and made to feel rushed on something that should actually just be for enjoyment.
What would be the point of playing the game if you got everything for nothing?
Once again, if your time is not valuable to you, that's fine. Having seen what's on the other side, I value it very differently. Time is all we have.
As for having something for nothing, what is it to you if they extend the innings and let you grind them at your leisure? It's still time, but at my choosing. I don't want it for nothing, I want it when I can do it. Your argument is quite moronic, and completely baseless.
I mean the cards are available in the auction house…complete whatever program you want and sell the reward to buy whatever player you missed.
Your entire first post did have a whining/protesting tone to it like you are being cheated.
Nope, that was not the intention and I apologise if that is how it came across. I simply would like the option to grind inning bosses at my leisure, not on SDS's clock. I'd like it set up like the team affinity, where you can pick and choose and work towards what you want, or the player programs.
I don't want anything for free. I just want to be able to achieve it in my time. If people want to complete it quicker, that's fine too. They can make more money flipping I guess.
The issue and argument you have is one that is debated not only in this game but many others
The inning programs have to be viewed as a battle pass like this found in Forte Nite or COD that are part of a season and when that season is over the pass is gone and a new one starts and what was there in the past season is gone.
From a players point of view it's not great because it creates a FOMO mindset but it also rewards those that play that game exclusively and the time to devote to the game in the long run. Gamers who don't have the time or play exclusively will feel like missed out cause of its expiring nature and can't do things at their speed.
From a business side of things this obviously the goal is to create engagement with product over a long period of time to expiring elements will create that as players will make sure to play and stay engaged so they don't miss out.
In the case of MLB this was the first time SDS implemented a expiring program system for the inning programs however this is not a new element as MLB 2017 and 2018 had time programs that became uncompletable after a certain time frame. SDS would have the data to determine how many of the active player base that has reached the boss pack and how many are close hence why we see double xp weekends and extra collections added to push those to the finish line.
Ultimately there will be no changes to this in this year's game and if the expiring programs remain next year this will indicate the data shows the majority of the player base reached the boss pack and engagement in the product remain throughout the year. Unfortunately what that means for you is that you are in the minority of the player base that can devote the time needed to complete the program in the alloted time again this being part of a larger debate on weather this is a good thing for the industry and gamers alike but in the long run developers and publishers are seeing longer engagement with their games because of it and more money is rolling in its not going to change.
On a personal view of things I think SDS does a good job of giving alot of ways to get to the 350k mark as well providing other programs that don't expire with great rewards that it provides a good balance for all players. If you don't have the time to devote to the game to complete the inning programs for whatever reasons that is just part of life and sometimes in life we miss out on things.

If you don’t have time to play then why post on the game’s forum? I think a lot of people here understand priorities but I’m not sure very many understand complaining about it.

I will clarify; I would simply like to be able to grind for the bosses in my time, not SDS's time, much like Team Affintiy, where you can pick and choose what you work towards at any given time.
i dont play alot and getting these innings done are pretty simple, especially with quad exp going on right now.

The whole point is to be rewarded for the effort and time you put into this game. Im with the majority saying that the programs are super easy to obtain, and if you really don’t have enough time to get to 350k then you shouldn’t be on a forum complaining and frankly you don’t deserve them cause it legit means you barely play once or twice a week.

I can understand where you’re coming from but unfortunately, competitive online gaming is moving towards this model with Battle Passes and such. From a business standpoint, they have to focus on what appeals to the masses and unfortunately, that might not be you. There’s still plenty to do in the game and you can still have fun playing but grinding DD might not be it for you; this year at least
-
I don't know what previous years have been like, but it seems that rewards are setup to where stuff that is for a specific period of time (innings programs, RS, BR, Events) can be sold and is always available in the market. Programs that are not time based (TA, POTM) are non-sellable. This seems fair to me. This is the first time I have spent a lot of time on a game, so I really don't know what other games are like. But it seems fair that those who play more get the benefit of cards sooner, with them still in the market for everyone.

Your not missing out on anything, unless you really like a certain player. You can do the same, sometimes better with a card that isn't a 99. Build your team the way you like it, don't stress over having the highest rated, latest, greatest.
Yep. No way I'll ever spend the stubs for BR guys who have worse stats than free ones. But I had 1.3 mil stubs and went and got Ricky. Because Ricky. Also got the two other bosses for the xp bump in a day or two. Might not ever use them...

Yeah, it's just like the algorhythmic feeds for YT, TT, etc. Time in the "ecosystem" = profit. It's the new form of psychologically predatory capitalism. Teach your kids now, and limit them. It's too late for me...

I have done only some daily exchanges, all daily moments, the 2 Conquest maps, Showdown, and 2 player programs this inning. I've got the Veteran series collection, Stargell, and Joe Carter done for collections this inning. I'm at 320k XP. I will get to the boss today and I've barely played this month.

They bring all the inning bosses back in the 11th inning program. You will be able to get them all and the inning has no time limit.

Yes OP SDS should cater to you and completely change everything they are doing. Even tho what they are doing is great
-
They should’ve left it like last year so people who get into the game late play the programs. Idk why they timed them this year.

After eight years of playing, this game might not be for me anymore.
I had the same thing with 2k
If you don’t mind me asking, what factors made you drop 2K for MLBTS?

SDS literally can't win.
If you think that's bad, think about 2k last year. They made next gen how the people wanted it, and they still complained.

That’s because it wasn’t the way we wanted it. You guys are lucky sds even listening to what you guys thing. 2K sports would only ever do that for VC glitches and stuff that impacted their revenue. MLBTS has so much free stuff, it’s amazing. The equivalent to team affinity for 2K are called spotlight sims. And instead of being a fun mission based program. They’re full on grinds requiring you to use theme teams from each team. Which is difficult especially at the beginning of the year when there isn’t many players for that team that are good since you have to play on HOF. Next gen especially last year was just so lazy. By the end of the year they were just releasing random cards to make people think they still cared about 21. The game was littered with spelling mistakes in the menus which doesn’t matter much overall but shows how little they cared. The gameplay wasn’t perfect either. 3 hunting was way too easy and nobody could really play defense. They’re was some time when the game was fun. But I’d say 70% of 2k21 wasn’t perfect, in fact it was the opposite. Sadly at that time I didn’t have many other games so I was forced to play it. But yeah lol it ain’t perfect the complaints were for a reason.

Lack of reward for grinding besides doing stuff that was much too hard for most of the community (such as 75 wins in their version of ranked. A weekend only events game mode where everything was rng etc) and a lack of care for the game. Sds is much better at listening to people than 2K. 2K will usually have major flaws that impact the gameplay that 2K don’t fix for the entire year. The closest thing they have to listening to the fans is votes for cards. Seems like they can’t hear us over the amount of kids that are forced to buy VC because of the market being weird and then losing all their mt on one card. Oh yeah, and unlike mlb you can’t buy cards with VC, only packs. It’s like a crappy freemuim mobile game with two currencies. Except it’s 60$, every year.

Omg the constant having to buy cards every day and week for challenges only to sell them back for a loss. I feel so much more rewarded for my grind with the show.
Show > 2k > Madden
