How does event based matchups work?

Is it random who you play? I got up to 16 wins and my last 3 games were vs ws players. Is this expected with the more wins I get?

I just want to earn Baez and I will stop playing the event lol

I thibk its random, I got matched up with WS players in my first couple games.

It's not random per se, like BR it matches you up to people with similar runs, so if you are 8-1, it tries to match you up with someone else who is 8-1, but if you lose and have to reenter, it resets, so your new run is 0-0, it'll try to put you with someone else who just entered.
