I also unlocked him but I haven't used him yet. Have you used him in ranked seasons and why do you say he is garbage I'm just curious?
-
Hard throwing lefties are the best this year, and he's not that.
Any of the new pitchers with outlier are what you want. Johnson, Hal, Pearson (he's getting expensive, so get him soon), Verlander.

No sinker. No outlier. His curveball is super easy to pick up. And no I haven't tried him a ranked yet, I will give him a couple games just because why not.
I say he's trash for what he is. He's not a program card, or a br reward, he's one of very limited collection cards and he's not better than the pitchers they have given us in the last 2 TAs. A collection reward should make a lineup, I understand it's late in the year and our teams are all 99s but, again, HE IS 1 OR MAYBE 4 OR 5 COLLECTION CARDS!!! he was supposed to be 99 babe, or hank. And even if the were dead set on Kershaw 107 h/9 isn't as good enough. For reference Robbie Ray is better in almost all attributes than Kershaw.
My ranked rotation is degrom, Felix, Verlander, seaver, and the 5th spot I play with but here are a list of all the other 99 starting pitchers on my bench. (A couple I haven't finished in ga4 yet)
Walter Johnson
Bret saberhgen
Hal Newhouser
Bob feller
Greg Maddux
Bob gibson
Christy mathewson (sucks)
Nolan Ryan
Pedro
Robbie Ray (boo)
And Clayton KershawA collection card should stand out amongst the other 10 99s I have on my bench but he doesn't, at all.

New to the game? Kershaw was one of the best pitchers last year. According to people who played in 19 he was a nightmare there too. He has a sinker and if you know how to use him you’ll be surprised by how many games he will win for u. His slider is another level of nasty and his fastball at 97-98mph is good enough to blow by hitters.

I think they started nerfing the hits per nine because of so many people complaining about how hard the hitting is on Hall of Fame and Legend. All of the TA4 pitchers have around 100 hits per 9 except hoffman and sabeehagen then agin they don't throw gas. This should make the PCI a little bit bigger. Also you didn't need to collect many more cards than you did for the mookie collection so it was kind of a no-brainer if you had mookie this was just a few more cards. I just wonder if there's going to be another bigger collection or if this was it. I will definitely agree that it was underwhelming if it is the final collection.
-
I am a huge Kershaw fan and was still a bit let down on the announcement. I wonder if there will be “The FINAL Collection” announced in a month? ( with TA5 Finest)
But I don’t buy the guys pitching review at all, if you know how to tunnel and pinpoint, Kershaw is nasty.

They didn't start nerfing the H/9 on these cards. They made their H/9 normal and it seems low because No hitter cards, Degrom, future stars, and Topps now have H/9 that is far too high. 107 H/9 was elite for a starting pitcher every year except for this year. H/9 was never that important (at least as long as it was above 90-95) before this year. Pitchers having 120 H/9 leads to every card that doesn't have 115+ contact vs right to be trash, when just 95 was good enough for hall of fame in the past, and only absolutely needing 115 for legend. Do I think Kershaw should have been a collection, absolutely not, but Kershaw wouldn't look that bad if SDS didn't create the monster of facing Aroldis Chapmans with maxed out stamina. I like milestone cards, but the no-hitter ones absolutely need to go next year

I used him in two RS games on hof today. I actually really like the card. People are so used to the h/9 being 120 and over. That was a mistake for sds to do to so many pitchers this year. Kershaw has a great pitch mix and speed differentials. If you can tunnel and pitch well he will be great. Of course of you face a goon it doesn't matter who you have on the mound. Two days ago I was disappointed that Kershaw was the reward. Now I am glad he is. The card is good. Small sample size but he can be dominant like he was two years ago. Every pitcher doesn't need outlier to be successful. See glavine, leiter, Mo, Felix and Eckersley to name a few.

Yeah I finally used him on rs as well. I won the game 3-2 I think, or it was the game I lost I can't remember, tonight's been rough for me. he went 6 innings allowing 1 run so the card isn't terrible. Still not collection worthy imo

Speaking of collection worthy I just got moomoe to parallel 5 and in hitting .250 with him. Yet I hit almost .400 with baby girl trea. You also have to remember that moomie was worth a huge collection, I agree with that. Kershaw was literally a tiny collection on top of the mookie.

I have tried him in ranked season and he is good. His pitches break well and he has enough velocity differences to keep the batter guessing. I had almost every card needed so I figured I'd give him a shot.

Either Was Betts, and Trout last year, this the way they been doing the collections the last two years, the Collection rewards have been nothing special, Even Rivera isn't that special.
