It's Official: MLB the Show is Just as Bad as Madden
-
Yes not all hits in the game are bad but are off good swings. But this game is so easy to see when it’s about to go bad while playing. I should not know that if I give up a very late or very early hit I’m giving up runs within 2 batters. I shouldn’t be able to have degrom at 125 pitches , still in the green throwing 102. But I bring in 96 chapman man and 5 pitches in I get the pitcher is tired alert. Content is what has been saving this gane the past 3 releases. If 22 plays like this it’s going to not be good for SDS

Remember. This is a video game. By the rules of the video game, I shouldn't have been picked off. I don't care if it happens in real life...this isn't real life
Wtf. What rules are these you speak of? The ones you made up in your head? Don't take a lead and you won't get picked off. It's that simple.

going back to where you said no buttons would work until he stepped off. After a pitch is selected nothing will work, with your HUUUUGE sample size you say you have I would think you'd know this. Just admit you screwed up multiple times in the game and call it a day.

The game has mechanics. You press square, you hit for power. Press circle, you hit for contact. Hit for a little contact and power press X. If you apply logic, you'd realize other facets of the game have mechanics. Like beanball said, you know what's coming when you have the lead in the final innings. I've been set up to lose on soooooo many occasions, I refuse to believe I have that big of an issue "under pressure."
The base running mechanics, for as long as I've been playing this game are as follows: One lead, you're safe (with a fast player) Two leads is a crapshoot...you can be picked off, but can also get back safely. If you hit L2 in order to steal, and take a lead, it increases the probability of you being picked off. You're almost certainly getting picked off (or will just take off) if you press L2 with two leads (oh...btw, i mean when you hit L1 twice). Slow players have no business taking leads, as that's a good way to get picked off. SO given all that information, the mechanics the game has laid out over several iterations of "The Show", leading off with one L1 press, with a player like Lou Brock...with no command to steal, should not result in me getting picked off. I have not seen this happen before or since....with a LARGE sample size.
So if the game isn't consistent on what constitutes being out or safe...along with hitting, pitching and fielding mechanics, then what am I playing? It's like a slot machine with no control over how you do. It should be more like Poker where you control your own destiny.

You're just not aware of what's going on in these games brotha. Research DDA, then we can talk. And don't be predictable by refusing to look it up or say you've heard about it and it's BS.

Mlb the Show is not perfect by any means, however you obviously have not played Madden recently. Madden is the biggest joke of a game since Cyberpunk. EA might possibly the worst gaming company in the world. I play both equally right now, MUT h2h is unplayable.

If you're playing Madden right now, must not be THAT bad. Probably a load of poo every single game, just like MLB The Show. I will say though...I think it's probably harder to make a football game than a baseball game. 22 bodies running around is a lot more complex than one pitcher throwing to one batter with 8 stationary fielders. I would sure hope there's not as many straight up glitches.
The thing is...MLB The Show isn't a glitch fest like Madden. It's mostly horrible animations which leads to you getting out, committing an error or giving up runs, along with the blatant buffing+nerfing and/or game scripting. They only get away with it because so many of you are empty headed and okay as long as you're getting free and easy to earn 99 cards.
So to all the naysayers...are you arguing that MLB The Show isn't as bad as Madden or are you arguing the MLB The Show is a good game?

Sorry I missed your response until today. Madden is THAT bad, issue is that it is the only NFL football game available. So if you like football and need your fix you are stuck with Madden.
Madden is full of glitches but also suffers from lack of AI and players responding to how they should be. In Madden you can click on a CB to intercept the ball and he will not animate. In other words the controller does not affect gameplay. That is just one example..
I could go on about how zones play or how an 82 speed LB is faster than a 91 speed WR. Madden has been well know and is actually the pioneer in scripting and ELO in an attempt to get gamers to play longer. Keep them engaged even if they suck. Madden also still uses the same coding as in previous Madden going back to 15. Meaning all the updates are just a patch on a patch. You mention that a football game is harder to code because more players but not when it is the same game that has been coded for the last 6 years. The Show actually is more nuanced. Think of each pitch. There are so many variables relating to user input on both sides. There are literally 1000s of possibilities. Does it need some work? Sure but this isn't RBI baseball on the NES.
This in not an empty headed comparison. Ive played both extensively the past 3 years. But Madden since 15. If you took the opportunity to play both games you could make a comparison instead of just randomly complaing about something you know nothing about. The Show has its issues for sure but Madden is far worse.
