    I just beat a WS guy 3-2 in h2h.
I pitched Ryan vs DeGrom (for about the 8th out of 10x this week)
I threw 95% fastballs, and my opponent only struck out 8x.
Mostly jam shots and pop ups.
The whole time I was thinking, "If I face Ryan, what is a scrub like me going to do against this?"
I'm only ranked 702 (Division Series?).
I consider myself above average, but nowhere near you WS guys.

Ryan appears to be an absolute nightmare...
Just what we need! Another ulcer!

I can't imagine hitting Ryan or DeGrom above All-Star.
You would have to start swinging last Tuesday.

Seriously? Both those are 102 mph meat. Ryan throws everything straight up and down, and Degrom is very easy to read his fastball arm motion. Ryan too, both of their fastball releases are very quick. Sit high in the zone and wait for the quick release. It's funny to turn on a couple of those guys fastballs and watch your opponent change to off speed. So predictable. You face Degrom so many times now, he's meat. I faced him 3 times tonight.

To me, Ryan's fastball is on you immediately. It just explodes.
With DeGrom, it feels like you can actually react a bit.
I think a lot of players sit off speed with these two.
I just decided to see how someone would react to fastballs up, down, in, out.
Next guy might kick my rear with the same approach.

U must be among the very elite then! Even very good players I've faced seem to struggle against those 2. Same with Verlander.

Totally agree on this. Nolan’s is really hard to pick and slaps you in the face from no where.

I end up just waiting for off speed half the time. And then learning the pattern of where he will throw the 4sm to give myself a chance

Oh you forgot Verlander. Fastballs are light speed. Its also the unrealistic offspeed stuff. Change ups that slow down mid flight.

Dude I'm terrible (maybe I'd get to 700 if I tried) and I won an event game vs a 12-0 banner before...maybe they were letting their kid play

Nolan Ryan is very easy to figure out after a couple innings.

I usually don’t even see Nolan Ryan, fastballs and curveballs don’t usually cut it if someone can hit fastballs

I used to practice against Degrom high fastballs. I think that helped.

Ikr? He's kinda hard to control too, if I'm using him (I used 92/95 got to 5th parallel) and if someone could hit a fastball, behind in the count, I knew I was in trouble.

Idk, 700 is pretty good. Congratulations on your win though.
