Grief Reporting

SDS

Will it improve online play or just be abused by the same winners that like to bunt dance etc. after they get down in a game because they can’t just take a loss?

Also what is officially considered “griefing”? Pausing a lot? R2 holding? Waiting the max amount of time before each pitch? Hitting a home run with a bad PCI rating? Seems pretty subjective.

SDS

I'm afraid the players that it was implemented to be used for end up being the ones that use it the most

What about the whole taking an extra lead/stepping off throwing over “lock”. Between this and the arbitrarily low xp cap, it’s almost as if this patch was thought up by an intern.

Same here. I think it’s great that they are trying to do something don’t get me wrong. Hopefully they are prepared for this because it’s almost certainly going to happen.

SDS

If they can code for automatic griefing due to consecutive walks, which they have done, then they can code for automatic griefing due to spamming R2 repeatedly, or bunt dancing. No need to risk having grief reports submitted for pitching outside the zone to someone with a big strike zone, which is probably going to happen.

SDS

I'm sure they'll review the grief reports to make sure there's evidence that the player was actually doing something wrong before taking any action. Even if a bunch of whiners do abuse the system by submitting bs reports, the worst case scenario is that it'll create a little extra work for the poor SDS employee who's tasked with going through them all. No harm done to the player base.

SDS

SDS really needs to communicate on this issue and spell out exactly what they consider griefing for these reports. It’s not like it should take more than a paragraph.

Which is fine since that poor SDS employee has caught up with all the tickets that were submitted because SDS refuses to implement a system where you can't take the same no-sell card twice.

Oh wait...

Grief reporting example: I lost a tooth!??!

SDS

We going to grief on a 9 PCI HR to lose the game?

Yeah exactly. My privacy/personal info ticket took months to resolve and that's way more critical than a dupe card. For sure they're not going to pore over every single grief report to see if they're all legit. Any one of us could wake up to sanctions because someone didn't like dealing with curveballs in the dirt.

SDS

How about a grief report that says look at this guy, he is 42 wins 3 losses and has played 45 innings with a batting average of . 108. And every game in his history his name dont correspond?

Trigonometry it aint

SDS

Lets put some obvious rulebreaker in a tree and cyber poke at him with OUR well earned batskins!

SDS

A mental picture of Frankensteins monster being pursued by torch weilding the show players comes to mind

SDS

I’d assume if a player is getting reported a lot they’ll actually do some digging and maybe warn the player.

They’ll also track who is using it. So anyone spamming it will get warned as well.

It’s good. As long as it’s fair.

If they can't reply to a ticket I submitted way back in April about losing players in my inventory then no way they are going to review thousands of games played per day.

I can’t wait to get banned because someone can’t lay off a slurve down and away or a fastball up high. I’ve already been messaged after a game by a bunt cheeser who was cheesed I kept throwing pitches that he couldn’t bunt/would lead to pop outs.

Better believe it, and bloop singles

SDS

Are people going to submit reports for silly reasons? Yes.

Here is the reality: people behave with some form of consistency. It's not about the 30 games a person plays and the one off shoot report from a toxic player.

There will be dudes that will be reported with consistency. Like those that have long winning streaks and sub .200 BA.
