Yes as everyone knows you judge a guys career based on his first major league start. He could suck this year, go back down and come up guns blazing like a superstar. He could dominate down the stretch for a team with nothing to play for. Not everyone develops the same.
Yeah cause a 3.54 era in the minors is shutout

Degrom had a career 3.59 ERA in the minors.
Now don't take that as me crazily saying he's the next Degrom, I highly doubt it. I'm just saying judging a pitcher on their minor league ERA is pretty pointless.

He did really well up until his last inning I believe. Solid start and I’m excited to watch him more!

@TheGreatWilliss_XBL
Again, I'm not saying he IS going to be great but plenty of top pitchers didn't have great ERAs in the minors. As a Mets fan I can think of Matt Harvey, Zack Wheeler, DeGrom all struggled in the minors before coming up and pitching great. -

Great argument and analysis, you really convinced everyone.

After going over and watching all of his pitches from last night. That fastball at 97-98 was electric. The sinker was 91-95 with tons of movement (he was throwing it up in the zone and still getting crazy movement) the slider at 87-89 is a wipeout pitch and the curveball around 80-82 seemed more of a show pitch than anything but not bad. He pretty much cruised into the 7th where he left a fastball up and over the middle that josh bell was able to hit out. But this kid looks promising. His stuff is electric and if he can work more around the zone (may be nerves in your first big league start) he looks like he’s going to be a problem for ML hitters

When will you be making your debut? What was your ERA in the minors?
-
In the minors this year, he has a 2.93 ERA in 61 innings with 92 punch outs. Marlins have a lot to like with their young arms.

It’s actually not bad at all. There was a time when having a 4 era got you work plenty of work in mlb and sometimes it still does

But he wasn’t throwing sinkers 100MPH up in the zone so he’s pretty much trash.
I think sometimes people forget that this is a video game and reality still exist.

I think SDS adjusted his sinker velo, it says 95 now on his card pretty sure it was 98-99 before?
