Do you guys think with MLB22 being specifically built for next gen that it needs a complete overhaul or do you like the way it is now but with better graphics? I personally think we need an overhaul… this is my all time favorite game but the past few years I feel like I fade out around this time every year! And no I’m not a madden fan

What do you mean by 'specifically built for next gen'?
Unless you have a next gen console; you won't be able to play next year?

Unless you have a next gen console; you won't be able to play next year?
I highly doubt they'll do that. It will most likely be built for next gen but PS4/XB1 will still be able to play a dumbed down version. Ie. Additional modes and features may not be available for you like Stadium Creator.

PlayStation already announced that they will continue to support the PS4 with new content/ games going into the foreseeable future.

Just like NBA 2K, Madden etc. there will be minimal changes with a continued focus on DD, Ultimate Team etc. You may see graphical enhancements but an overhaul to the base game, not a chance.
Keep costs low, raise profits from recurring spending. That’s the MO for sports games.

I didn’t mean just next gen.. I worded it wrong.. I meant like taking advantage of everything the PS5 has to offer!!

Well if they did that, theyd have to create 2 separate games and there would be no crossplay between the generations, so no i dont see them building a game for next gen until they stop making for current gen.
they wouldnt willingly double their workload like that and i think mlb likes the crossplay and wouldnt want to give that up -
