I’ve been doing a lot of online rated the past few years, but got sick of playing the same teams, so I am giving DD a shot finally. I’ve played like 25 games, and it seems like every game there’s a combined 10+ HRs every time. It feels like every AB is a HR or hard line out. Is it normal for there to be this much offense in DD because in online rated if you hit 3 HRs a game, that was a ton?

It's either all offense or all pitching. Rarely do I get like a 3-4 game.

You're playing on rookie or veteran difficulty. That sh!t dries up real quick in HOF and even AS isnt the HR fest that many make it seem to be

I’m in the 600s rating wise, not sure what difficulty that is.

It feels like 75%+ of hits are HRs

    I stand corrected then.

Like I said, I don’t play much DD so I don’t know if this is normal or not, but maybe it’s because everyone has all 98 and 99 overalls? I mean every guys power is at least 105 it seems.

You just hit All Star level I believe, 700 is HOF and 900 is legend. All Star level and below are usually slug fest.

People who say all star is a slugfest dramatically underestimate just how bad some of us are at this game. When I hit all star difficulty the slugfest ends and the games start to have more realistic scores like 4-3, 3-2, etc.

Don’t worry. Once you get to 800s its just 1-0 or 2-1 with only HRs being hit. It’s incredibly stale. Random contact swing HRs with a sliver of the ball touching the pci dominate most games I’ve played whether I win or lose. Both players aren’t rewarded enough for good timing and pci placement through the entirety of the game.

That’s a completely different experience than what I have. Around that range and I rarely run into players that can hit, and most games I seem to have no chance of catching up to anything if I run into outlier.

Though maybe OP is one of the oddity’s I seem to run into, i often have my best hitting games vs players who hit great. Maybe it’s a self preservation thing where bad hitters are forced to pitch great because it’s their only chance at winning? Where as a gear hitter may not focus on pitching as much? I dunno.

Update, just got to around 800 level, impossible to hit hahaha. Think me and my opponent combine for 5 hits a game.

Its because of the /9 ratings and attributes of hitters, they are all juiced so definitely expect a different experience.

Fun stuff huh? DeGrom most of the time with his miniscule pci even with 125 hitters. Then may God be with you if you have a bad connection with your opponent trying to hit 102 looking like 110 with nasty off-speed pitches that you can't read. With a bad connection all you can do is pitch good and pray your opponent doesn't score 3 runs and hope you can guess right on pitches and locations to scratch a few runs.

Weird because with a good connection, I usually score 3-5 rather easily off deGrom

People use him to much, if you see him enough he becomes way easier to hit.

True when the connection is good. When it's bad, good luck. Doesn't matter how much you have seen him 120 mph is tough to hit.

I can tell in the first inning what kind of game I am going to have. Has nothing to do with opponent but connection.
