Why no Joe DiMaggio or Sandy Koufax?

Also, they have many of the all-time great stances. Perhaps you could create your own player that is missing. I'm sure you could grab up some old Shoeless Joe video and find a real close facsimile.
That might be pretty cool and why this game appeals to such a broad audience.

Shoeless Joe: most likely correct.
"steroid era villains": most likely false.Nelson Cruz has his own player program. Which I don't think MLB would allow if there were an actual ban.
More likely, those guys came of age during the social network era and thus know the value of NIL. They're not going to be so willing to sign away their rights without a big, giant payday.
Nelson Cruz is a still an active player.

Explain the 5 players named in the mitchell report that are in the game and the 5 that used to be in the game then

Why did you single out Minnie Minoso? Minnie never played on the same team as Joe, and I'm not even sure that their MLB careers even overlapped. Minnie is a legit legend, and it feels a bit dismissive to say "We've got this guy, but why no Joe D" unless there's a clear connection between the two. If you want to be dismissive of one of the MLBTS "legends," there's always Jason Bay.

Or Joe Carter

Licensing has probably changed in the 20 years since but I remember Shoeless Joe Jackson being in a game called Hardball 6 which came out in 1998 (Hardball 99 on the Playstation).

They played over 20 years apart so you are right on that.

Actually, I was incorrect. They both played in the MLB in 1951. I was certain Minoso debuted in 54, but I guess I'm getting old.
Huh? Who did what now?

I read that as Minnie and Joe (Jackson). My mistake.

I singled him out because just who in Hell remembers him? More people remember Jolting Joe DiMaggio than Minnie Minoso!
To all the others that thought I was talking about Shoeless Joe?
Shoeless Joe Jackson & The Yankee Clipper Joe DiMaggio... two different players. Two different eras.
Hey Poksey - brush up on your baseball history - DiMaggio is more of a legend than Minoso. How many World Series was Minoso in? He played in the 1947 World Series, and never made it in the Hall Of Fame. DiMaggio helped the Yankees win the World Series in 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1947, 1949, 1950, and 1951. So, in the future, get your S**t straight before you take me on.I see there is a Milestone Card for a player with a 30 game hitting streak. Why not a Milestone Card for DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak? That record has stood since 1941! My point is the lack of F**king logic going into the creation of these cards!
Finally - it's not about who played on the same F**king team or not! It's not about the same era or not! The reason for my post was the fact that there are no player cards or programs for DiMaggio or Sandy Koufax. Both are Hall of Famers! DiMaggio in 1955 & Sandy Koufax in 1972.

What "lack of logic"? I would say you have a lack of logic in how player rights work. It ain't free and SDS doesn't get an unlimited budget to add every great legend.
-
The answer to this is very simple and has been posted a zillion times on these forums when people ask for certain cards. SDS doesn't have their rights. They have the rights to use all current players in MLB, but once a guy is no longer in the league SDS does not have their rights any longer. They have to obtain their rights on an individual basis. There are many cards we would all like to see in this game and I, along with most I would imagine, would love to see Dimaggio and Koufax in the game. Until SDS is able to get the rights to use them though it's not happening. Maybe they've tried, maybe they haven't, maybe it's those players asking for an insane amount of money from SDS for their rights. Many possibilities why which we will never know.
