Anyone else sick of early timed swings hrs?
-
Swear at least 50% of the hrs i see are early timed swings. Outside corner , middle, hell i even gave up two today that were early on the inside corner.
Maybe they did this since hof is hard to hit -
Early on the inside corner….

You want to be more on the early side in this game.

I know, right.

My opponent got a contact swing bomb from Cliff Lee today.
-
Nah. It's the 12/11 PCI homers that frustrate me. The PCI seems meaningless. Timing too actually

What’s a pull hitter?
-
This is actually one of the things I think they have pretty accurate in the game. There is a reason it is so hard to break hitters from pulling everything.
-
In baseball you’d much rather be early than late. I love watching trout take 97 on the outside corner and put it in the left field seats. Some results in the game are pretty wild but good/early timing will always be better in game and in real life
-
Swinging early is how you easily gain loft IRL. That's also why most of the big home run hitters don't have a super high average, they sell out for fastballs. The ones that do are usually generational talents. Bonds, Griffey, Vlad Jr and Sr, etc.
-
being early is literally the only way to pull the ball...
-
Id rather it be early than just late be great.
-
I would get no hits with Teoscar without them
-
No I love my early HRs

I mean it wasnt ball inside, but was almost touching the inside corner. Idk man its just really annoying losing when somebody swing early on a changeup for a hr. I can handle the base hits but i wanna lose if someone is making good timing/contact.

Yeah bro I know what you mean but being early on a ball on the inside corner is how Frank Thomas ended up in Cooperstown
-
Not to mention vlady Jr.s first 2 homeruns after the break....both pitches low and outside (slider and change up), both pulled (meaning early swings as the pitches were away), both were not barreled up (they were towards the end of the bat)....results...2 380+ foot homeruns to left center....
-
No, power pull hitter are some of our favorite players ever. They also tend to strikeout a lot too.

Maybe they did this since hof is hard to hitanyone else not understand how hitting works? how do you think a right handed hitter pulls the ball to left in real life or the game? ....He's early....

Thank you! Sox fans understand baseball.
(because we've seen enough losing teams over the years to eventually figure out what we're doing wrong)
EDIT: This conversation comes up a hundred times every year, and it always reminds me of my hitting coach in college. This was 2001-2005, so it was a little before the launch angle, homer-or-nothin mentality. So he was big on using the entire field. He never said "be early" or "be late," but he would say "go out and get it" or "let it come to you." Same thing, though. He wanted us all to hit like Rod Carew or Tony Gwynn or Wade Boggs. And we were [censored] good. Local legend says that you can still feel the heat radiating off the bench from where I warmed the pines for 4 straight years.
