I dont have 5 million but a 99 Carlos Beltran with some speed would make me grind the market on top of donating plasma.
I would pay that much for that B not to ever be in the game again.
Alright send me 5 million and I will make sure it doesn’t happen.
-
For me it would have to be a position player. No way I'd pay that for a SP I can't use every game. But anyways, I really like the Beltran mention. I'd 2nd that. I'd also love a Manny Ramirez card but it wouldn't be worth it with his defense.

Barry Bonds!

2005 Manny Ramirez

2006 MVP Ryan Howard, 2008 Silver Slugger Chase Utley, 2007 MVP Jimmy Rollins, May 29th, 2010 Roy Halladay Perfect Game, 1980 MVP Mike Schmidt. Stubs are easy to get this year and I know if they made any of these cards they would be game end for me.

Just curious. Pick any year. What card would you drop 5 million stubs for without hesitation?
For me Ted Williams last year was that guy
Barry Bonds and Rocket

Didn't someone post the same thing about a $2 million card? Is this an auction site now?
Wrong answer. Reread the question and try again. You can do it(Rob Schneider voice)
hmmm? There was a post 5 minutes before this one popped about a $2 mil card. It disappeared. So, you had me at $2 million (Jerry McGuire voice).

I’d geek out for a Timmy Hudson, any time from that beautiful 2002-3 run with The Big Three.
I’d sell every sellable card I had and start over for that.

People are paying MUCH more than that for guys like Otani and Betts.
sucks for them if they are... i paid less than 300k for Ohtani when he came out. all the cards went up after they were out of packs and I didn't need alonso, vladdy, or peralta to complete it.
betts i just waited for potm to drop and had to buy like 4 signature cards for a total of about another 200k.. everything else was obtained by playing the last few months or buying the cards when they were dirt cheap around the all-start game / TA3 release

Sure, but you are not thinking about the profits you did not make on all those cards you got dirt cheap to acquire Mookie. If you sold those cards you would have maid millions I am sure. So he did cost you a ton. If you can go 12-0 and make WS then the cost is much less. Also, if you flip cards all day you may not care about the cost, but the cost is still there.
-
NO ONE got away without losing millions of stubs to get Mookie. Either in unrealized sells, or straight up buying a lot of cards. Betts was too expensive imo. There are too many other good players I can have and still have millions of stubs for later in the year. So I sold all my HRD and All Star cards except Vlad and JT. I will forgo any further collections the rest of the season. If Betts had cost about what Mo did I would have went the other direction.

And that's how it's done.

You're just playing it wrong. I sell off dupes but don't flip, haven't played online this year, and certainly don't spend money, but I still have almost every card. This game gives you a lot in itself, so buy non-dupes when they're low and keep your categories up around 85%.
