Since Votto will likely be universally perceived as underwhelming (no slight to him but rather due to the # of 99 1B) it makes me wonder if they drop something really nice right in front of him in the reward path to entice people to complete. Maybe not since people without Mookie will likely do this program simply for the voucher but kind of expect to see a ASG pack….
And theres a chance we see flashback POTM cards as a reward for collecting lightning cards too

People are literally going to complain about anything that happens in this game. The man was about as lightning as you can get last month and he’s a future hall of fame 1B with a good swing in this game. If you have another 1B already you think is better you have a very quality “problem”. Also I didn’t see any switch hitting catchers hit 15 hrs and steal 15 bases in MLB for July so I’m not sure who you all were expecting SDS to pick as the lightning player that would make everyone’s god squad.

All lightning cards are therefore flashbacks, because they're all active players.

Another good player tucked away on the bench that I won’t use. It’s a shame too because I love Papi,Fielder,Murray,HRB Alonso,HRB Trey,etc but I keep all star Vlad in 99% of the time. Juan Soto would have a been a cool card but I totally understand why Votto got it. Guy had a crazy 7 games.

Strictly a personal choice, but I’ve always loved Votto.. although clearly not anywhere near as good as the Mookie card but I am way more excited to obtain this card

Ill complete it for the Xp and its something to do but I dont see Votto being someone ill use much. Im perfectly happy with Vlad at 1st and Chipper at 3rd

Reds fan here! I’m building my own perfect refs lineup so votto is a solid choice! Not gonna be on my God squad with Murray and big papi already taking 1B

Agree. I joy was renewed once I started making different lineups instead of hitting 80 offline homeruns with the same players

I mean, he def deserved it so their hands were kind of tied imo. It kind of stinks that its ANOTHER high 1B but on the other hand it is nice to have a variety of 1B for people. I think we assume everyone has the best ones already but there are a lot of average players that haven't completed AL Collection for Papi, or TA3 for Fielder or got lucky/have the stubs to buy HRD Alonso or AS Vlad etc.

I was always going to be more interested in the other choices more than the lightening card anyway.
Last year Jose Ramirez had a FB finest in the exp rewards tree then a lightning 99 later. That said it was a very disappointing drop
Was that the one that had 98 Mondesi too? He was the real prize.

All year SDS has chosen from the MLB players of the month for the lightning card. That meant either Ohtani and Votto. I think they probably could’ve looked beyond those two this month. Even if it was for one of the pitchers of the month - Buehler or Taillon.
personally may try him at first, move vlad to third, chipper to left, bench domginguez
