But no its never 'OMG, I just scored 6 runs on late bloop hits that were so far out of the zone that they were in the parking lot before I swung.'
I will be the first one to admit on this forum... yes, I do these things.

Ya know, I never thought a game could be more toxic or just worse overall than Madden Ultimate Team…but then MLB The Show and Diamond Dynasty came to Xbox.
This is the worst sports game ever made. It takes no skill whatsoever. Whatever happens after the bat makes contact with the ball is completely random. In just the games I’ve played tonight, I’ve had perfect-perfect fly balls that don’t even make it to the warning track with guys that have 120+ power, I’ve had line drives up the middle that bounce off the pitchers back right to a guys first baseman for an out, I’ve had fast ground balls up the middle that hit second base and just stop (preventing a run from getting home). Meanwhile, I have opponents hitting no doubter home runs on pitches outside the zone, when their PCI isn’t even on the ball for gods sake. I have opponents hitting home runs on every early or late swing, but when I do the same thing it’s a foul ball every single time. Diamond fielding for in-fielders is basically pointless, because every player has 99 speed and beats out every ground ball or bunt regardless. Also, THERE ARE NEVER ANY GROUNDBALLS ANYWAY BECAUSE EVERY PLAYER IN DIMAOND DYNASTY IS ALREADY 99 OVERALL AND HAS 100,000,000 POWER.
Next is just the toxic community itself. I find it sad that in sports games, people have to abuse exploits and can never just play the game. 90% of the community just spams sinker/cutter and never throws an off speed pitch ever. Like I get it, every pitcher you have throws 102 mph fastballs. But yeah, sinker/cutter, pinpoint pitching and just abuse the corners. Oh and offense I have Byron Buxton and Trea Turner and Alfonso Soriano and whoever else so I’m just going to bunt all game. And god forbid if a game goes into extra innings, then it’s really just turns into a bunt fest. But hey! The throwing animations aren’t too slow! Fielding bunts is hard for MLB players!
This isn’t some rant because I’m bad at the game. I’m 40-15 in Diamond Dynasty, but it’s just beyond miserable to play. I have no idea why PlayStation players hyped up this series when the game isn’t even good.
So let me guess... you lost a game?

I find myself often saying "wow there is no way that should have gotten through" or "never should have made contact on that swing" for some of my hits. I definitely notice when I hit HRs that are fringe PCI or early swings because I know I'd be annoyed when I give those up.
The unfortunate part is that these issues are so common we are at a place were its like "well...i've been burned by that same stuff so I'll take those" situations.

Isn't Madden online just people abusing glitches? Plays you physically can't stop. A lot different than a sinker that is coded incorrectly.

It’s so much that needs tuning in this game, but it seems like it’s not coming because all they work on is more content every week. I’ll take 1-2 weeks of no content for them to fix infielders/catchers with high reaction/fielding dumbing out every time a batter bunts, taking the hump off the sinker so it doesn’t appear off speed, and tuning PCI so contacts outside of the PCI or the edges have less chance of being a hit/HR.
Completely different departments work on each of those two things. The content team gets paid to work on content. The gameplay team gets paid to be worthless. They aren't the same people and they shouldn't just not release content for 2 weeks.
I get that that would be the thought, but the gameplay scenarios that I mentioned and ballplayer archetype progress have been broken since the game dropped 3-4 months ago. Since they haven’t tuned anything other than contact swing (supposedly), I am led to believe that they don’t have separate staffs to work on separate parts of the game. If so, the tuning team is collecting a worse check than Sam Bradford.

They definitely do have separate teams. The guys you see on stream strictly work on content and marketing. To be honest with you I wouldn't be surprised if those guys felt the same way about gameplay as the rest of us do

its the same game every year, its not just 21, its every year, randomness, rng, whatever you call it

Facts! Where are the patches? They did great in fixing contact swing? I think? Right? At this point the game couldn't really be messed up more than it is at least try to make it better. You forgot to mention that literally 9/10 balls hit up the middle are fielded by the pitcher.
I said this before and Ill say it again. The amount of balls up the middle the pitchers get in this game is ASTRONOMICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I’ll say this, I think they could fix some gameplay issues but overall I feel as though it is a good game. I get frustrated at times but I’ve enjoyed the game overall. I’d like for more balls to find gaps, less balls to leave the yard. I’d like a complete overhaul to base running, I’d like for fielding and tag animations to be cleaned up. I’d like a smaller outer pci. I’d like a larger inner pci on higher difficulties, I’d like one pitch speed online.

LOL! Plus, pitchers definitely have target on their body, especially the bulls eye on the pitchers head. Way too many, but sure does look good when they take a 110 MPH exit velo liner to the head. Pure Gold!

If the inline experience isn't want you want it to be; then DONT PLAY.
It gets to the point where I spent so much money and time on the game that I have to play. It’s like squatting, lunging, deadlifting and running hills. I hate doing it but if I don’t I’ll get fat and suck at pitching.
-
OP says this game takes absolutely no skill.
And then says and I'm not even bad at the game because I am 40-15.
So which is it? How can you claim your record to prove your not bad if it doesn't take skill to win?
It absolutely amazes me the disconnect a lot of people have when complaining. And I'm not even claiming that it's objectively a good game.

You can differently stop the bunt with out moving defenders and changing out of the shift, First Expect it, Second pitch against it, Learn to pitch where they will foul it 99 percent of the time, I use meter so if a guy is stealing or trying to bunt I can release at a early or late point pitch will be to high or in the dirt, if stealing I do not need to side step just release early and high. I do not lose to bunt cheese,

In my gameplay experience contact swing is still very much a thing. But I agree with you

contact seems to be less HR but give up a lot of hits.
