At first I thought walker buehler wouldn’t have a chance at the lighting but then while watching Brantley rip a double off him last night I forgot he has a cutter. Which is a great reason why I could see sds giving him the card

I guess you also have to consider that historically 1B and RF are the best hitting positions in MLB. This holds true in the Show as these are the 2 most loaded positions for 99's. If they keep with using one of the 2 MLB POTM's, we get either a 1B or RF, so either way we get another player at one of the loaded positions.
Yeah everyone is usually so quick to say "we need more middle infielders" even though from about 1930 to the mid 80s middle infield was mostly defensive specialists, great bunters etc. they were good players to have on your team but the only superstars in the middle infield during that time were pretty much just Ernie Banks and Jackie. Same with Catcher. Was pretty much a strictly defensive position until Roy Campanella and Johnny Bench changed that trend
I would add Rogers Hornsby, Joe Gordon, and Joe Cronin (for middle infielders) along with Mickey Cochrane and Gabby Hartnett (as catchers) to your list, but your point is a good one. Those positions were primarily defensive minded positions, so its not as easy to add in this game.

I forgot about Joe Morgan, Alan Trammel, Yount as well(all hall of famers but people don't get excited about them too much in this game). Really though throughout history middle infield was mostly dominated by Ozzie Smith types. Shortstops hitting for a good amount of power is a very recent phenomenon

There’s top tier players at every position at this point.
CF and C are the only positions that we don't have 99's and some of the RP areas.
I feel like we could use more complete 3rd basemen. I platoon Devers and Chris Taylor since Devers hits right well and Taylor hits left really well. I don’t think there’s really a complete one.
Uhh chipper jones is pretty complete
Yea. Gold fielding but yea.

Defense at the corners hardly matters. Chipper plays really good defense for me

Like 4 times or so I want to say. The only one just by looking at the list of POTM winners from 2017 until now is Thames in April 2017

Thanks, this is my first year playing DD, so didn't know if they went outside the AL and NL POTM's.

It NEEDS to be a pitcher. Buehler or Taillon would be nasty. McCullers would be pretty decent as well on legend/in WS.

Exactly this.

Predictably I was right. They're really sticking to the "formula" aka one of the two player of the months irl
