As many of you know SDS has been choosing one of the players of the month for their lightning players all year. This month's winners are Ohtani and Votto.
Do you think they give us Votto or finally break the trend to give us someone useable?

There are a lot of top tier 1B cards right now....so hopefully they break the trend and make the lightning card someone else. I think Votto gets a high end card in the program.

There’s top tier players at every position at this point.

They could give it to a pitcher this month. Although they have only done 4 pitchers ever for POTM lightning and half of them are Paxton

I hope it’s not Votto. It’s like 6 end game 1st basemen already. I been rocking Murray for a month. I don’t think he’ll ever move to my bench since he’s a great fielder as well as a great bat.

Yeah really balanced switch hitter with great defense and for a 1b decent speed

But 1B and RF have many 99 options at this point. I actually like this because it will provide a greater variety of teams out there...just feel like it is time to start working on a different position.

I feel like we could use more complete 3rd basemen. I platoon Devers and Chris Taylor since Devers hits right well and Taylor hits left really well. I don’t think there’s really a complete one.

Doesn't he already have a high diamond LS and a HR derby? Seriously doubt they give him another. They may go with walker as the lightning but most likely votto since he's only a gold.

A Soto that could competently play the field would be my dream!

As someone mentioned, there is Chipper at 3rd but he is the only 99 3rd baseman. I really like him but I do agree there should be other good options outside of Chipper.

Votto had a month worthy of the card, but I'd imagine they'd want to go with another big favorite here. Everyone loves Soto's swing and he's had a massive month. They gave JRam a bunch of cards last year so I don't think they'd shy away based on his other versions available already. You could definitely be right though.

They did upgrade his LS to 80 fielding I believe

I’m the worst card collector lol I can’t seem to get all the 100k stub live players.

I guess you also have to consider that historically 1B and RF are the best hitting positions in MLB. This holds true in the Show as these are the 2 most loaded positions for 99's. If they keep with using one of the 2 MLB POTM's, we get either a 1B or RF, so either way we get another player at one of the loaded positions.
