Chicken or the egg?

It is occurring to me that PCI feedback seems less than accurate a good chunk of the time, both on my swings and my opponent’s (or the CPU’s) swings.

Now I just had this thought that MAYBE the reason for this is that the outcome is determined FIRST and THEN the feedback is generated.

I used to think the outcome was based on the placement and timing, as shown in the feedback.

Now I’m not so sure. What do you guys think, does the swing (and therefore feedback) determine the outcome, or is the outcome determined and THEN feedback determined?

Completely and unequivocally swing determines the outcome, along with the various elements like pitch type, momentum, elevation etc.

There's absolutely no way on God's green earth that outcome is determined before user input.
