Are we ever going to address catchers not making tags when they have the ball when a runner is 1/4th the way down the 3rd base line?

Far too often the runner scores no matter what. Every time a runner is on 1st and 2nd with a soft hit ball that can't be rolled up into 2 outs you can send the runner on 2nd home and he'll score. Even if a throw beats him the catcher will stand straight up facing the 3-4 hole.

I just wish there was middle ground between catchers with pop time and those without.
I mean MLB catchers should be able to throw the ball to 2nd base on a steal attempt BEFORE the runner reaches 2nd base.

I feel like with SBs more often than not I’m just beat because I didn’t slide step or got caught in a predictable off-speed pitch, but I do somewhat agree. Sometimes the catching meter doesn’t even pop up, so I don’t really get to test how much I was beat by if at all.

Yup. I have a friend that steals home every time he's on 3rd. His pitcher regularly steals home. I won't say how he does it, but it's based partly on what you've posted above.
Too many exploits, not enough rewards for good input, MLB 21

Infuriating to lose a game on a steal of home... happens way too often. It doesn't hardly ever happen in real life and neither do squeeze plays.

Don't even get me started on how every player can drop down a squeeze even when the ball is bounced in the dirt...

I'm more annoyed with the cutoff throws. No matter the players defense rating, the throw always goes to a player inside of the diamond, not where a player should be. I've lost so many games because of this logic.
The only time I do see a correct throw to the cutoff man, is when I'm just throwing a ball back into the infield after a play. -

Well said brotha. Game is coming off the tracks and it’s ridiculously noticeable

Oh like this straight up fuckery that just happened? Game wouldn’t let me L2 to the catcher on a passed ball. Why do I even have to L2 to the catcher on a passed ball in the first place?

If you steal home and the pitch was a normal pitch, this locks up the catcher for a decent amount of time and they just stand there. If the runner on 3rd is fast enough, they will easily score before the catcher gets "unstuck". I'm sure this is SDS trying to implement real baseball rules as with a normal pitch, the catcher has to stay in the catcher's box until they have the ball. WIth a pitchout or a throw home from the pitcher (where the pitcher steps off to throw home to catch someone stealing) the catcher can move out of the box for the play.
It is a good idea in theory but in practice your catcher has the ball and just stands straight up and can't be moved for a little bit and your Robinson's and Turner's can easily run past them to score.

Like how I threw a pitch at the opposing batters head and it let him squeeze bunt in for the winning run. Great product you’ve put out SDS
