IS THE LIVE COLLECTION WORTH IT?
-
So I have recently been on a crazy luck streak with free packs from TA3 and I have 550k in stubs and two sellable trouts sitting in my inventory, I can pick up all the diamonds I am missing for like 500K, do I lock in one of the Trout cards, use the 550k to get Chipper, Ortiz and Soriano or do I sell both Trout cards and sit with 1.1 million to do whatever I want with card wise?
Pretty much are those three cards still worth another 500K when all this new content just came out, I run AS Olson at First, Rewards Semien at 2nd, Castellanos AS at third OOP and I have Jasson Dominguez, the new Acuna 99 in left and Trout in right.
Clearly I would keep a Trout if I collected everything and I would sell him if I wanted to go the stubs route but there are so many good out fielders I don't think I would miss him all that much.
HELP!!!!

Comes down to if you are interested in using other players besides your "best lineup". if you are...then yes, the collection is worth it.
-
Should you do it? That’s your choice. If you play online I say sure. If not Meh.
Is it worth it? Sure why not. Trout still solid and when he gets back he will be playing up a lot and definitely a top OF still. I’d still say the best but everybody has their guys they like. Chipper definitely worth it. Ortiz is still the the best 1B although Fielder is close to the same. Glavine still a top 5 pitcher. The 95 Gossage still a top arm of course unless you get his 99. Posada still solid but definitely more catch options now. Soriano sucks.
Of course you could sell them all and go buy players and still get by. Chipper and glavine(for a short while) will be the main ones you’re missing out on imo. But stubs aren’t that hard to make.

I’d say this is completely backwards. Over a million in stubs allows you to use basically whoever you want and for quite a while. Locking in all those stubs limits you to the collections. The collections really aren’t that good anymore and all of the collections besides the top3 plus Glavine will have upgraded cards at some point. I don’t use Soriano, Ortiz is the most replaceable so it basically comes down to Chipper and Glavine both of which are great but that’s a lot of liquidity gone for the rest of the year.

If your just playing casually and want the ability and stubs to buy the new guys that will come out in future releases then no. You could build an amazing team with all the new guys out now. But when you see the new big collection player drop he’s gonna be really enticing and your best chance at doing those collections are if you finish the live collection because you get so many cards from it that will go in that set. Basically it comes down to that. Chipper is amazing and my best player, but honestly you could get by without having him for sure. All comes down to if you want to do the big collection and be a collector of all the cards. If your not sure, then I’d just say no. Save your stubs and have the ability to buy all these new awesome cards that will drop, but just don’t get excited about any new big collection guy if you haven’t done the live one bcuz that’s priority.

Big part of this game is collecting so if thats not your hype don't worry about it
-
Chipper is amazing and will man 3B all year long for you. Switch hitter helps balance the lineup
-
chipper alone is worth it imo, soriano is also good
-
I just did it last week. Chipper, Ortiz, Soriano and Glavine are cool, especially chipper and glavine but you can build a great team without doing it.
-
Chipper and Ortiz are the only ones still around for me.
This was the first DD ive played in 5 years and if i knew at the beginning what i know now with regards to the free players - i wouldnt have spent £££ to complete it so fast

This is the closest I've ever been to completing The LS Collection For the 1st time in my MLB the Show Career. Grant it. I probably could've finished a while ago but I stopped playing as frequently as I did when the game 1st dropped..
All I need is Cole and Trout.
Just got DeGrom last night. Just have to lock him in to get Soriano. Yay -
Chipper and Trout are both absolute beasts and would be hard to take off your active roster.
There are so many usable 1B right now that Ortiz would be personal preference(He’s not on my active main squad roster) and some people can’t hit with Soriano. I currently have him on my bench because I hit pretty well with him and he’s versatile and fast. I’m also a Yankee fan and loved watching him play when he was here.
-
I’m on the Chipper is worth it by himself train… then again I can’t stand having an unbalanced lineup and place a premium on SH. With that said, I can’t imagine a 3B I would take him out for.
-
I think what is happening is you are weighing the opportunity costs of what you could use the stubs for instead of getting Chipper. What else would you use them on? You may want to use it on the "big collection" or to get Rivera. Heck Ohtani is probably about the same cost right now (haven't checked). My suggestion is to invest those stubs into cards that are going up due to the "big collection" sell when they announce it and cards are at their highest. Then you will have lots of extra stubs. A few weeks after the big collection is released the cards will come back down and you can buy most of them back and get Rivera and Chipper. That's what I think your best use of the stubs would be.
-
I would add that even if you don't want to use Soriano, Ortiz or Chipper you will need all though cards that come with collecting all the LS for the next big collection. Mariano collection was pretty easy if you already had all the LS completed. Just food for thought.

I pulled my first ever Trout yesterday in a TA BIAH pack followed by Acuna then Dwight Evans then kid you not I pulled 2021 ASG Vladdy Jr out of a program ASG pack. I used to think people just made this stuff up but I'm definitely still in disbelief!!!

Quick go buy a lottery ticket. Use the jersey #'s from those cards then give me 10% of your winnings. You are welcome.

NO! Dont waste your stubs equal or better players already available.
-
Yes it's worth it lol.

Yes! You can always make more stubs. I remember getting enough stubs for Trout while I was at work (like I am now), by just flipping cards online. So, yea, it's worth it, you still get Trout (obviously), Chipper is a must have. Soriano was good (probably better options now, but still great speed off the bench if you don't have him in your OF.
Ortiz - some like him, I can't really hit with him. So I use other options at 1B usually. But still a big bat off the bench (for me).
