Unique MLB rule change idea
-
I know this would never happen but I thought of it a while back and I think it’s fun. Instead of the runner on second rule in extras, what if both teams lost one fielder.
Like at the start of the 10th inning you can turn one batter into a DH (they’ll still remain in their batting order spot) and you sacrifice one fielder (obviously, can not be the pitcher, catcher, or first baseman). We’ve seen teams run two outfielders before or sacrifice one infielder so I think this would be really fun.
You’d still be allowed to shift, so say you sacrifice your third baseman, you could still use your 2B on the left side of the infield if you want two guys there against a righty batter, and then maybe have the first baseman shift a bit but not too far to where he can’t cover the bag.
Like imagine how entertaining this would be. The broadcast would show you the defender who got removed on like a graphic and then they have a crazy birds eye view shot of the 8 man defense

That would be cool but would never happen.

Ya but it’s fun to think about

Or they could just stop trying to fix what wasn't broken and keep things the way they were before this year.
