Just lost a game to drop me down to Pennant Race. 0-0 going into the 7th. Neither one of us can hit anything, but deGrom is grooving. He gets a guy on 3rd and hits a pop fly to CF (Finley) and Finley plays it perfect. Guy doesn't tag up. Next pitch, another routine pop fly to Finley and gets underneath, ready to throw, and the game decides the ball is going to bounce off of his glove.

Next inning the guy hits a ball down the left field line with Brock. One guy scores. He tries to push a triple. I hit the cutoff to Tatis at SS as he heads for 3rd. He's meat if Tatis gets it there with any sort of urgency. Nah, he throws a [censored] lollipop and Brock gets in with ease. He was only about 1/2 way down the baseline when Tatis got it.

Honestly frustrating to put time and effort into a 9 inning game when stuff out of your control happens.

Last night in BR, guy hit 2 straight doubles in the gap. The second one, my CF gets the ball at the wall, but can’t move or throw the ball back, both score. Ok, I lose.

Switch to event, had 3 P/P for outs, and twice he hit a pop to RF that Marte didn’t lock on, both dropped at his feet; weird. Ended up winning, but booted FF7 after that. Guess the Friday night traffic screwed the connections.

Yeah I guess it is. The absolute best part is that there were no errors recorded in the box score. The Finley drop counted as an earned run.

Brutal. The lock in thing was an issue for me last year. I haven't seen it too much this year. But I'd be pissed.

It's things like this that ruin a session. I have no issues with losses. And this game was actually a nail-biting pitchers dual which I was enjoying even though I absolutely could not hit Crochet (That's another topic). But to give up runs like this just ruins the experience. It wasn't user error.
