Can Trevor Rogers get any love? He's had at least 5IP with 3 or less ER every start this season. Not to mention his overall statistics.
That just sounds slightly above average when talking about POTM. He’s had a great year overall though.
I guess. He's a top 15 starter in baseball on the season, by every measure and hasn't even got a topps now card. Anyways POTM lightning could be Buehler, Acuna, Schwarber, Ohtani or Correa. Matt Olson, Sean Manaea and Jonathan Schoop have also had a big June but doubt any of them would get the lightning

How can the June Lightning Card NOT BE Shohei Ohtani? He's only a low Diamond live series and while he has a lower POTM in April, he's just playing in another higher league this month. June POTM is gonna be insane if its him and we also get a Schwarbomb too!
Ohtani will probably get another Future Stars or some sort of stacked All Star card this year or maybe he will be the Angels finest but I can’t seem them waiting that long.
Probably get a Matt Olson and Schwarber maybe something like a gold unless they juice his vs lefties.
-
Kenley Jansen will likely be the RP card.
-
As a Tigers fan I just want Schoop to get a card (which he should and probably will). The lightning will probably be Schwarber because he just keeps hitting bombs. A few days ago I'd have said Olson but I think he'll be the second highest position player now.
In all honesty though, Ohtani is doing things that haven't been done in my lifetime. He should be the top guy but I understand they don't want to have one guy to have 20 cards in the game cycle.
Unless it's John Smoltz.

How can it not be Schwarber?
I don’t know, maybe because other guys have more WAR, higher wOBA, wRC+ than him this month?
It will most likely be Schwarber but part of it is because the other guys having great months, the game doesn’t want to reward with another card so soon after one (I.e. Cedric Mullins) or want to hold off for Finest, post season or later Monthly awards where they can scale higher.

Michael Brantley is currently hitting .418 for the month of June…. Wouldn’t be surprised if he is selected

Maybe this is the beginning of me getting truly old, but guys like Schwarber or Ohtani just pass the eye test in June. They are both electric and right now they are must watch TV every night. Some of the stats people use now are viable for sure, but those stats don’t factor in the impact a player like Schwarber is having on his team.
Now get off my lawn.
-
If Schwarber doesn't get the lightning card for the month he's having there will be alot of unhappy players in this community.
-
Yeah, I think Schwarber is locked in now for sure, especially after Ohtani laid an egg tonight in his start again the Yankees. Schwarber will be a fun card too! Hopefully your right and maybe will get an All Star Ohtani a few weeks from now.....

Ozzie is the number one rated fantasy bat for the month of June for Yahoo, Merrifield led the majors in hits, schwarber for dingers, schoop and mountcastle ranked 3 and 4 in RBI's.
Ray, Marquez, DeSclefani, and Manea all deserve a spot for pitching as SP and Hand had 10 saves.

I’m on board the Ozzie train too. If you like switch hitters this is the time of your life right now.

Schwarber is doing things that haven’t been done in a long time, If ever. He is the hottest hitter in baseball and he never gets high diamond cards. Would love to see it
I do agree that it will likely be Schwarber, and he is VERY deserving (although he still cant hit LHers and he will only really have any value IF he has a C secondary (where he has literally played in 1 Game Since the 2017 season)......but Ohtani is doing something that hasnt been done since the days of Babe Ruth. He has a 13 HR and 1.300+ OPS in June (.150 more than Schwarber, and as a pitcher in june, 4 starts, 2 wins, 23 IP, just 5 walks and 32 K with a 1.08 WHIP (he has 1 more start tonight as well)
I just don't think they would put out another "higher" card of Ohtani out right now already. It's Schwarber. It's the highest peak for him. SDS has bigger plans for Ohtani and we will get it later on.
