Don't know about this game, but in FIFA the participation level drops by over 50% in FUT by the 3rd month after release. Many reasons, but a lot is just player burn out. Too much of the same-o same-o.

What do you believe the fall off would be here. Someone recently mentioned there could be as many as 50+ 99 Diamond cards within a couple months. Does that excite or scare you away?

I'd say the biggest pull from this game is the yearly madden players. From what ive seen in the forums(myself included) a lot of people just bide time until the 99s start dropping and that's when the game really gets fun. I could see why some people don't enjoy it but my opinion is I like it.

It's hard to judge this year with the influx of players from the Xbox eco system.

Alot of factors could impact the drop off. Does MLB leave game pass which could drop the xbox side by more the 50%.

Madden will draw players away as it always does. Does the inning programs change where we see alot more rewards that keep people engaged.

There will be a player based drop off always will but there are alot more things that could influence how far that drop off is this year then there has been in the past

I dropped Madden about 3 years ago. The online play was just a crapshoot. I actually thought there was some strategy to that game. But, imo, it was strictly gimmicks and cheese...with a whole lot of RNG wrapped around both.

I remember spending most of Thanksgiving break grinding for Trent Williams (94 or 95 OT) because my running game was dead. Finally got him, plugged him in and watched him do less than the 80 OL (don't remember) I replaced.

Just proved the grind and attempted strategy was pretty much irrelevant. After about 4 games of, basically, watching David Johnson(when he was good) lose yardage on that side of the line..I quit..walked away..and have never played it since. One big frustration that I put in my rear view mirror and don't miss at all.

That's one thing that won't drive me away from this game..and that's Madden. 50 Diamond Cards maxed out might, but crawling back to some other RNG train wreck sure won't.

Not counting Prestige cards, the 50th 99 was dropped on August 14th last year.

Wow, I actually thought that number may have been a slight exaggeration.

Call me picky, but having an MLB sports sim where there are more topped out cards than an entire 40-man roster can hold is overkill and deflates any sense of merit, or feeling of personal achievement from getting one of those 99's. Because everyone else has them too.

    Just my opinion.

I don’t mind the overalls honestly. If you just use a god squad I could see it getting stale because much of the new content will rarely crack a lineup or be that much of an improvement over what you already have.

Use different players. Players you like. Meta gets old.

Not all 99s are created equal 😉

I prefer the 69's..they're a lot more fun and, at the end of the day, much more fulfilling.

I'm in it until at least New Years, I like to collect all the cards.

Madden and 2K weeks, big drop offs .... but is that a bd or good thing?

I'm sticking around until battlefield 2042 and Farcry 6 come out. Although they just announced they will fill lobbies with bots in battlefield. I may see how others like the game before I buy it. I'm a huge farcry fan tho, so that will take my attention.

Edit. Madden and 2k can eat the biggest bag of dicks ever. Haven't bought their trash in awhile and don't plan to start again anytime soon.

Valid opinion, but I will give the flip side opinion. If there's a limited amount of 99's, then there isn't much lineup diversity and playing same squads will get stale. All 99's are not equal, but 2018 year of immortals was a problem

That really is an insane amount of max ratings cards. Obviously the finest cards pushed that number up a lot, but it's still around 120 without them.
