How SDS can Nerf Sinkers
-
I know it’s a “game flaw” with the way sinkers break in this game but couldn’t there be an easy fix of just nerfing the break rating on sinkers?
You’d still have the issue with it looking like a breaking ball out of the hand still but at least there wouldn’t be as drastic of a break. Sinkers are breaking 6+ inches (in-game measurement estimate) at the top of the strike zone making it a completely different pitch from a sinker altogether.
Sure they would less effective all around, even where they are meant to be effective (low) but wouldn’t you rather them be less effective as a whole rather than what they are now? Then they could even out the meta and if they added more break to two seamers to balance them, both pitches would be more on the same playing field.
Do you think games like this actually want an overpowered meta?
Just a pre-coffee morning thought….

The sinker didn’t really become meta until the last 2-3 years really. They just need to go back to what they were before idk if it’s a simple programming issue or what hopefully they rework them next year.

I remember playing BR and just looking for sinker, slider and change in pitchers before cutters and sinkers took over.
All of the top players in RS just throw cutters inside all day and a few pitches off of the cutter. It’s idiotic.

I agree they need a rework altogether. But considering the community has been vocal about sinkers being unrealistic for a few years now, it makes you wonder if SDS wants them to be that way.
Plus there’s not very many LS pitchers with good sinkers so it’s like they want that overpowered meta to feed the market and make certain cards less usable.

Seriously, don't they have to overpower a lot in order to keep most everyone from batting about .500?
I know you can't have the best of both worlds..a game that is truly reflective of someone's skill with a controller..while also making it reflective of MLB gameplay. It's a tightrope the developers have to walk, and the smallest "adjustment" can spin it into a fiasco.
For the umpteenth time though, I just want them to quit nerfing any pitch thrown at 95+ high in the zone. Tired of waiting for those pitches with my PCI resting across the top of the zone and getting "too late" and "very late" feedback. It really makes a mockery of things.
If it's a network/lag issue..there are ways you can sample connection speeds and do server adjusting on the fly. In this day and age..lag really should never be an excuse.
