Is hitting in ranked just harder?

Faced Crochet in the half of fame event didn’t seem special. Faced him ranked on all star and all of sudden I’m swinging a pool noodle. Anyone else having this or do I just need to train harder?

The game has many issues at this point and really needs a gameplay patch hopefully sooner than later.

Yes, i have had no where near as good a team as i do now and in previous years was a .270-.280 hitter
.240 this year and i am contacting swinging

SDS uses different event sliders than ranked and its very frigging annoying. I usually like to hop into an event game before a RS game just to get loosened up and some timing but.its almost a waste, esp if the event is on AS. HOF event pitch speeds more closely resemble AS ranked pitch speeds so that's not bad but nothing on events plays anywhere near what they do on ranked

This is my first year playing, but ranked just seems all out of wack compared to every other mode of the game. I feel like it is a steroid fueled version of arcade baseball based on three true outcomes. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I could win ranked games yet be such a terrible hitter who felt like they were always guessing and couldn't square up anything. Then I just realized that was how the mode works, especially with everyone fielding teams full of 95+.
I know you used the example of Crochet in ranked versus events and I hadn't thought about sliders playing a factor...but I do think a lot of the challenge with hitting in ranked is the H/9 and HR/9 of the pitchers being faced there. A 95mph fastball from a 96 ovr just isn't the same as a 95mph fastball from a sub 90 ovr Live Series.

I just can never seem to get consistent connections so the timing is never the same between two games so it always takes time to adjust.

Just my thought about online.......Online AS feels like offline HOF and Online HOF feels like offline Legend. The guys that can hit online Legend in real life half to be great at this game...Period
