Its because his hr/9 is over a cerain number.hr/9 is a simulation stat now and doesnt affect gameplay.

So what stats do matter?

Stamina h/9. k/9 bb/9 clutch(with risp or 7th inning or later) control velo break.

for hitters its. Con pwr vision clutch(same as above) spd and the 4 fielding.

as for quirks- most are just an indication that the attribute is above a certain number.
