Liam Hendricks Is TRASH
-
Hopefully I don’t offend too many lovers of this card, but every single time I put this guy in the game I instantly regret it.
I decided today wth I’ll use him in the daily moment. I was up by two runs. Instantly regretted putting him in. Leadoff homerun. I get two outs and then he gives up a homerun to Martin FREAKIN Maldonado. How? Maldonado is a great fielder but can’t hit to save his life, but apparently against Hendricks he can.
This Hendricks card has given up more homeruns for me than a 40 something overall common.

I got this card like day 1 and I have never seen it again lmao. Why are you using it...

Did u just ignore the entire post or something?

Maybe he doesn't have many good relievers yet. Could be new to the game. Could be other reasons. Could be because he was the best reliever on the White Sox in the daily moment. Duh.

I agree. Sox fan and this was the first diamond card I got this year. He hands out hr like Halloween candy. I refuse to use him

I lost my first try in the 10th giving up a walk off 2r homer to Maldonado and was like lol ofc

Yeah, judging a card by his performance in a moment on veteran difficulty is absolutely the way to go
(Luckily in your case, yes the card is trash but my original sarcastic reply still applies)
-
Agreed, he's been my second favorite reliever to use the past two years. Pulled him from my bullpen this year.
-
I didn't just judge him on the moment. I've played with him throughout they year. In the moment, he was the best in the Sox bullpen, so I used him. Every time I pitch with him it's homerun central.
I only got the card last month and was using him for team affinity points in the bullpen for the AL Central. Of course I have better pitchers on my regular team. And now I have better on my team affinity team thanks to the content stuff recently.
The moment only made me realize why I gave up on him.

When I first use a card the ERA can either go sky high or start with 0 for 15 innings.
Hendricks started at 18, then it got to 90 after 5 tries. So. Yeah. Bye.
-
Cant you say the same for Chapman?

I have around 100 innings with Hendricks online (maybe a hair less) and he posted a 2.20 ERA. The biggest threat to him is, of course, the longball. To mitigate the danger, you need to get your opponent off the fastball EARLY into an appearance. I'm talking within the first 3 pitches you need to get a strike on a fastball that isn't a foul ball. I always liked to go 4sm hand side first pitch, because his 4 seamer will dance a little bit with full stamina. Don't bother throwing the 2 seamer if you're having trouble getting that first fastball by a guy, because that 2 seamer will get crushed since it's a little slower and drops right into where you're expecting a 4 seamer to land. As for offspeed usage, once you get that first fastball by a guy, you can throw whatever you want to as far as breaking stuff out of the zone. The curve looks like the 2 seamer, the slider looks like the 4 seamer. If you don't know how to tunnel and you're planning on using Hendricks. you'd better learn.
