Lofton & Jackie bat 1 & 2 for me. If you don’t show me respect by moving your 2nd & 3rd basemen to “in” then I’m going to bunt on you. If you switch to a bunt defense then I will swing away, I NEVER try to bunt if someone respects the bunt.

    Deeeerrrrrrrrr

Any tips for better bunting with players like Lofton, Jackie, Buxton, etc?

If the 3rd baseman is back just wait until the pitcher releases the ball & drag bunt. However alot of people still have the default shift on so the 3rd baseman is usually in on guys with high bunt ratings…In that case aim your left thumbstick to the right & then press the bunt button once the pitch leaves the pitcher’s hand. If it works it’ll go to the right of the mound but the 2nd baseman won’t get to it in time & your runner will beat it out. This works about 50% of the time. The other 50% will pop up to the catcher or pitcher or the pitcher will get a good animation & be able to field it.

Haha yeah it's annoying but super easy to combat. If I see you being lazy with the shift, I might lay one down just to see how you respond.

but its not...sometimes you just get [censored] animations.

AKA cheese the laser bunt to 2b thats unrealistic AF and actually works 80% of time unless you custom shift your 2b to bunt defense. IRL the pitcher picks that up and walks over to the batter to tag him out 30 ft down the line

Sometimes yeah. But I get people out 90% of the time when I play the 2B in and the 3B on bunt defense.

You’re absolutely correct & If someone has them in then I never even attempt to bunt. It’s an automatic out.

Did you ever watch Kenny Lofton play in real life? Did you know he once had 50 bunt singles in a single season?

That bunt laser to the 2nd baseman

I usually don’t put my defense in for the first batter if the batting averages of the rest of the team players are decent. But if you fail the bunt first try speedster will have to swing

For those who don’t feel like taking the time to set their defense for the bunt guys, throw sinkers/changeups in the dirt and they can’t bunt them fair! Haven’t set up bunt defense once and I rarely get burned on them

Lol I’ve never set mine either and I actually don’t set it if they catch me off guard the first time as well, I’d rather they keep bunting and at best squeeze out a single when hits outside the PCI are homeruns some times.

If they bunt their a non factor, very rarely do they even have a slightly average eye, throw it up and in and they struggle all game, that’s why they have line ups designed to remove the skilled parts of the game.

Personally, outside of a sacrifice with the pitcher or an occasional attempt with Hamilton if I have runners on first and second with no one out, I find bunting boring and don’t. But, if we’re being real, how can anyone take issue with the bunting in this game and give the cartoon horse [censored] HRs a pass?

I’d much rather give up a bunt single to second than watch another down and away slider get pulled into the second deck seats.
