I don’t think it’s possible to throw someone out stealing

I am extremely mediocre at the game and I throw people out stealing all the time

This has been going on since the game launched. I was hoping it would be fixed by now, as it throws the baserunning game completely out of balance. Anyone with speed above 85 gets an automatic double if they can get to first.

What I’m saying is, there’s like a delay when I attempt too. I see them steal, but my throw accuracy doesn’t pop up until a second later.

What setting do you use for throwing? How do you avoid the delay in PvP online play? I’ve tried both button and button accuracy, and I get the delay on either setting.

I guess it depends on your catcher. I hear the noise of a steal, I hold Triangle as the pitch comes in and the meter is there right away

I have the default setting, I haven't changed it so I think it is button accuracy

You have to watch the window. As soon as your pitcher releases and the runner goes hit the triangle right away so your catcher is in a “bang bang” catch and throw. Not guaranteed but will definitely help.

This happens to me 70-80% of the time when someone steals on me. I hold down triangle and the meter doesn’t show up and the guy is safe by a mile every time. But I can’t steal a base to save my life

Are you playing on PS5? I am and have this issue as frequently as you do. As others don’t seem to be having this issue as much, I wonder if it’s a next gen thing.

Not true. A little is on you the pitcher. Mix up the timing you come set before the pitch. Throw over here and there. Slide step once in a blue as well.

When a speedster gets on base, I either throw to first before my first pitch or slide step on the first pitch so they know I’m aware. Then the battle begins

Trust me, there’s a delay. Been playing this game online for years, and haven’t seen it until this year. I slide step, throw over, pitchout, probably a lot more than most because of the delay. It appears that it doesn’t happen to everyone, if you’ve never experienced it. Some definitely are though.

I was throwing people out ALL the time the first 2-3 weeks but now I cant get the timing down to start the throw. Before As soon as the camera view was changing I was holding Y/triangle and it was give me the meter. Now I do that and my catcher just holds the ball like an idiot...

Some camera angles for throwing out runners are terrible and might be your problem.

I am the #1 Offline Player In the world
and threw out a base stealer ONCE all season, and it was yesterday with LuCroy doing his affinity 2 stat mission!
Admittedly I pitch from Pitcher Zoom. If I played online I would have to change, but that feels more natural. -

I actually play on a PS4. I had this issue in 20 too
