Baseball Inconsistencies
-
Hello, not sure how many baseball fans there are but wanted to address some issues with how the game handles certain situations.
When a runner is stealing home, if there is a strikeout a swing and a miss or swinging strikeout, there would still be a play at home but the game just awards home to the basestealer.
All of these issues happened in Diamon Dynasty Mode if it matters.
I've had multiple times the Fielder throws past 1st base ... instead of going behind them, or having them have to pick the ball up from where it would have gone, it's just sitting right next to them like it hit a wall. It's not rolling or moving at all.
I've seen wild pitchs that seem to hit an invisible wall and land right in front of the car her, you can see the ball bounce off the screen and drop in front of the catcher... however during a steal attempt the computer treats this as the catcher came up with the ball clean which is not possible.
Vasgersian and other commentators seem to go through the same 1 or 2 dialog sessions every game. So each game you hear the same audio the entire game, front to back... like it's just on a loop and not at all situational.
Vasgersian calls RF, LF at times and not sure why he would do that but it's more annoying then anything I'd imagine, not really a baseball rules issue.
If a defense is playing for the Double play, and there is a runner on 3rd, he will always start towards home because the defense is conseeding the run, however the computer sends the runner back and also takes the double play which is a bit ridiculous.
I've had the computer throw to a base so many times with normal sliders and no lead that it went on for 5 minutes until they finally got the baserunner napping... this is on auto return to base, so computer knows it can just get you eventually.
On all play modes, regardless of the ability of your pitcher, the pitch consistency for the player is terrible but the computer with bronze or worse pitchers can paint the corners for a long time before making a mistake which is eventually just because they run out of energy.
Player skill levels for CPU fielders is always consistently the same with arm, range etc. The speed of the batter rarely matters against them if ever. However against the player a CPU baserunner is always fast, at the same running speed as a 50+ regardless of being a 0 to 30 speed. I've had fielders dive to make a play for the CPU, the ball rolls away, the Fielder gets up, gets the ball and guns my guy out at 1st, even at 75+ speed. However if this happens to the Player vs CPU, the player will never get the runner out at 1st even if speed is lower then 30. So definitely a speed inconsistency. This is with top tier players with gold glove numbers on the player side. Also no changes for sliders in DD gameplay.
Some base hits by low speed players are hard line drives to RF. I've had the ball in hand and gunned to 1st to get the batter. 0 speed batter vs 99 arm RF, and you would have him by 1 or 2 steps minimum and for whatever reason the 1st baseman isn't on the bag, he is just milling around where he would have been trying game play and this is on gold glove defensive 1st Basemen.
Last but not least I've had a home run ball, called by Vasgersian that it was gone... however at the warning track, the Fielder was far to the right. The ball then did an incredibly unrealistic slider type motion during the last 10 feet of travel right to the fielders glove about 20 feet away to the right. I have video of this on my profile for XBOX One if interested.
These are all I can currently remember but will update when I have the other issues/inconsistencies again. Feel free to add to the list if you would.
Please fix these issues as they would greatly help the baseball experience in the game

They did this on purpose because hitters would get thrown out from right field before reaching first base on a regular basis a few years ago. Instead of actually fixing the game engine (making batters run out of the box faster, speeding up swing follow through animations, adjusting throwing speeds, throwing animations, etc) they just programmed the 1B to stand there like a zombie on base hits to right field.

Just lazy lazy kindergarten level game programming. Pathetic
