This 40 wins garbage in ranked season. Have absolutely ruined the amount of value which should be rewarded to those who actually earn it and most importantly of all making it so much less appealing to even try to get to World Series rank.
Of course it is nothing new though when it comes to most any of these gaming companies and from a business aspect I understand it. Find a way to appease the majority over the minority and the customer base should maintain a higher percentage in the long run.
Even if it comes at the cost of competition and the will win. You’re kidding me right???? You do realize that if you get to 40 wins in ranked seasons that you’re more than likely already to WS without the hand out. There are a very select few people who actually benefit from the 40 win thing. The whole 40 win goal is there to make it feel achievable. When in reality the 99 percent who actually win 40 games in a RS are the guys that are regularly in the top 50. If you expand that win total through a full year playing cycle and only play to win 40 games that’s 480 wins. The only people that get to that win total are the streaming elite with the exception of a select very few who are not good at the game but live in moms basement and don’t contribute to society. Just think about that way.
Yeah it must be me that is kidding you and not you kidding yourself. The fact that you even look at it from that standpoint rather than actually looking at it from the rightful standpoint speaks for itself. That being said you are that much more out of your mind to be saying some stupid [censored] such as “ When in reality the 99 percent who actually win 40 games in a RS are the guys that are regularly in the top 50”. I can assure you that you aren’t even possibly “99 percent” incorrect about that but are absolutely 100 PERCENT incorrect about that. The 40 wins aren’t there to make it “feel achievable” they are there because it makes it achievable for any player at all as long as they put the time in.
Once again though regardless of how clearly incorrect your assumptions and comparisons are you obviously miss the entire meaning of the post. This is a matter no different than any other situation and being people should not be rewarded the same for achieving less. Just because someone puts in the same or for that matter even more time than someone else does not mean they should be compensated the same as even someone who may put in even ten times less amount time. Not when that person who put in ten times less amount of time achieved more in ten mins than the other person could achieve with infinite time.
I’m making zero assumptions, I’m using statistics to back up my argument. That is how you make a plausible analytical argument.
Where are you getting these statistics? Your a**? You’re providing unverified data from... whom? yourself? Look at the reaction to the market and then tell me more of these cards aren’t in circulation. An outlier is a one off, not enough to make a significant effect. The effects are prevalent and the market itself will tell you that. Those are real cause and effect differences
So I’m ranked 110530 in the world right now for RS. If there were 1000 guys out there dumping games to play bad players at lower divisions just to get to 40 win threshold and have these astonishingly terrible records that would mean that there is approximately 1 percent doing this. That would make them an outlier by any statistical measure. It’s obvious that this argument has gone way over your head.
I provided a real cause and effect, evidential proof. You’re just regurgitating anecdotal numerical nonsense. Your rank in the world has nothing to do with the ease of achieving anything. Outliers aside, make that argument. Fact of the matter there’s more supply for a WS card now more than ever. It’s not a rarity. These cards are circulating and devaluing any real skill achievement.
Fact of the matter is the WS cards are trash right now. There are better options in the TA grind and other content drops out there. No one is willing to pay for cards that are not even going to make someone’s lineup. It speaks more to the available content than any argument you’ve made here.

Not true. Even the most garbage of WS cards were going for serious stubs last year do to their rarity. That stayed consistent throughout the life time of the game and had for a long time. Don’t water something down or try to make a counter point with more nonsense

Why is your time more valuable than the next persons? If they want to grind 40 wins, why do you really care? WS players start up higher every season. It takes much less time for them to make it to 900. Now consider an average player trying to get to 40 wins. It would take them about 70-80 games. Whether they're quitting half way through or not, thats still a lot of time they're investing in the game. Why not be rewarded for that? WS players would have already made it to 900 and sold their rewards for top price long before that... I don't really see the downside for either type of player. The market is much better for it also. Much better. To be honest, in the time it takes you to make WS I could flip the market and make a million stubs. It all washes out in the end.
You’re argument is far more coherent than the garbage that the OP has been going on about for the last hour. He’s just [censored] hurt that he can’t make a quick 100k for doing exactly what you said. He thinks 90 Nolan Ryan should be worth 200-300k based on so called rarity of the card and he believes that a WS push is now watered down because of the introduction of 40 win route to the same cards. When in actuality it probably has more to do with the cards that are the reward and really not how those cards are being obtained.

90 Adley Rutschman was one reward for the first RS season last year. His card began at over 200k stubs. 3 months later could be had for 45k. Explain that!!!
Thank you for proving my point. Right now we have a WS reward from this season down to 80k and dropping. Two weeks in.
Uuuuuhhhh we are 2 months into the game cycle and the cheapest 1st RS season reward is 80k. What is your point exactly. Those cards are going to continue to decrease in value because they’re not usable in a month or even now. They are collection fillers and event cast offs by this time next month.
Ummmm a WS card released 2 weeks ago is at 80k.

Magic truth for folks that are getting crusty and unhappy: it is actually possible to get what you want while others do too. Life is not often black and white, and win-win is always better than win-lose.
If you can’t be happy unless other people lose when you win, the only person losing is you.
Just saying.
TL;DR who cares if more people can get WS rewards now?

The best argument I’ve heard for the 40 win Ws reward. To preachy though.

You have not given any clear evidence that there is a correlation between how the RS structure this year has affected the rewards earned in RS. You point to market values but fail take into account the fact that there is nearly double the gamers this year with the introduction of a new platform. You say it’s watered down because of the format but fail to recognize that the cards aren’t worth the effort you’re putting in to get them. You also fail understand that last years game was an anomaly. And there were many cards on the market that were overly inflated in value due to glutton of available stubs especially as the year progressed. Last years market was a lesson in inflation. When stubs become too easy to obtain prices go up which in turn devalues the currency. In years past there was never a card worth 1 million stubs until last year. Had nothing to do with rarity it had all to do with inflation. But I’m not being paid to teach you market economics. Have a nice night pitching your temper tantrum. Quiturbitchin and move on. Make WS faster so you sell at a higher price.

The real answer IMO is to give a higher reward for WS and a still amazing reward for 40 wins. Something like that BR story for WS and TA groshans for 40 wins. Think that would make both parties happy
-
Just opinion from average player... I'm about 50% winning in RS and I will never play about 80 games in a month and I think I'm now speaking for majority of average players like me

I said this a few weeks ago, and I don’t see the trend going away. Everything is watered down, even LS collection. There really is nothing “special” anymore. Everyone can get everything with little effort. Look at the Innings Program, they give away so much now, and you don’t see many people complaining about not being able to get it all done.
I remember not too long ago that grinding through to WS meant something, not just a unique banner, but also a special player. Sure it could be bought on the market, but not for the cheap price we see today.
I did TA2 and ended up making over a million stubs without having to do any market flipping, and no, I didn’t get great diamond pulls either. So LS collection isn’t all that hard either.
I’m sure there will be the counter arguments of not wanting to have to put in million stub orders and waiting, but this isn’t fun either. No parity in teams or competition. It’s all about meta now, YTers share every little secret and within minutes, most player is using whatever glitch has been “uncovered” this week.
I used to love new ranked seasons, but find myself very unmotivated to play online. I don’t have the patience anymore to sit through 9 innings of every glitch/exploit/cheat that’s out there so someone can try and get themselves an easy W to go towards that 40 win bundle. That’s what’s ruining RS and why the 40 W bundle needs to be changed.
No one complaining? Is that how you get your joy? Watching others have problems? You're that guy that goes fishing and hopes no one but you catches anything.
-
If a poor-average player is relying on 40 wins to get the WS card, they probably aren’t getting the card until the prices start to tumble.
I try to play 1 online game per day. That is all I have time for. Daily moments, TN, and conquest maps need doing too. I win about 70% of my games. I won’t hit 40 wins or WS and that is OK. I do not care if some no-lifer is disappointed that the profit margin on the second free WS card they have earned decreases over time. 80-90k stubs is still a substantial cost to me.
-
The 40 wins, (and the BR program) is fine. The million stub waitlists had to go desperately. I had the stubs last year to buy each and every one of your precious "exclusive rewards". More than enough in fact. I straight up could not buy them. 40 wins is a grind, so matter how someone achieves it. The BR program is a real grind and stub sink for worse players
-
Lmao I swear some of you forget you are playing a [censored] video game.
Who really gives a fk?
Some of you really need to put the sticks down because you're taking this video game stuff way, way too seriously.
-
Why would you worry about other players being also able to get cards? Seems a weird thing to care about. Just seems like you want a special badge that no one else has in order to prove how special you are.
