It’s a broken mechanic.

Just about got mercy ruled by it. Nearly unstoppable against an above average hitter.

~ A Dev who tried it and didn’t care how overpowered 440 foot HRs with a strike zoned sized PCI were

Be careful.... this forum is FULL of people who think contact swing does what it's supposed to. Or they say "PiTcH bEtTeR".

I’ve been on here long enough to know competitive players from non comp players. Knowing who’s post you’re reading is the most important thing on here, a lot of frauds with hundreds of posts about gameplay and less than 10 games played wanting attention.

This morning Inplayed against a very good hitter, on HOF and he put 14 runs on me. The exit velo he was getting from contact swinging and his good pci skills made realize this is game breaking. I even started to do it too and was getting crazy no doubters and perfect/perfect with 100+ exit velo

So you moved into the if you can’t beat them, join them category?

I’m guessing it’s a mechanic that’s just broken. If they are applying a % or even flat reduction to the power number it’s just not doing it’s job. If I have a guy on my team with 119 power and you nerf it by 30 point you bring the power all the way down to...~90... with a bigger timing window. There needs to be an upper level cap (50-70 somewhere) on contact swings. Hitting a HR should be probably be possible in a small park with a power hitter... but it should be very, very rare.

Do most people use contact swing, normal swing or power?

When im down 2 strikes i use contact or if my opponent continues to throw high sinkers all game. Normal is my main

SDS

They make every BR game I play rookie difficulty. Makes you draft sidearms or sinker outliers (you probably should do that anyways). Anyone that pitches straight is useless. Everyone can hit darts with PCI bigger than the strike zone.

SDS

I've started using contact swing because everyone else is and I'm not playing at a disadvantage just for honor sake. I've hit so many stupid bombs with contact swing it's a joke.
