Steroids saved the game! Bring on the ROID era!!! I remember the crowd numbers in early ‘95. Some crowds had less than 2500 fans.
Montreal.... So sad.. especially after their insane '94 team.
That team would’ve won it all I have no doubt!
100%!
Watching them that year was incredible.

I wanted to see what Jeff Bagwells stats would have ended up. Actually I think he might have got hurt right around when the season ended. But in 2/3s of a season he hit .368 slugged .750 with a 1.201 Ops 39 bombs 116 rbi 104 runs and 15 SBs
In 110 games lolThink he meant the 94 expos.. but ya. Bagwell was nuts that year.
Yeah I did, but I forgot about how sick Bag's numbers were that year. Actually looking at MLB stats just now, there were so many crazy storylines. Massive HR numbers, pitchers winning huge numbers of games (Jimmy Key! even though he was a Yankee then), and of course Tony Gwynn. What a year it was even though it was cut short.
It was a sad year for me, besides the stoppage, because it was the year that I realized the Jays dynasty might be over...

Yeah absolutely. I was actually watching the Expos more than the Jays that year, which was definitely weird for me. I'm Montreal for hockey but definitely Toronto first for baseball. Parents from each city so I guess I split my allegiances.
I can't remember exactly what was wrong for the Jays that year. Molitor was still hitting, I remember. I just looked it up and they lost 10 in a row in June. Blocked that out, obviously! I think I found it tough to watch the team struggle after so much success so it was a nice distraction to have the Expos doing well.

Ya, the pitching was really bad. That was the big thing. It wasn't great in '93 either (jack Morris was done), but at least we had a legendary offense to mask it. Some injuries too..
For the most part our offense was still fire though. Olerud was a .300 hitter. Not hitting .400 haha. Huge letdown.. jk.. he was my favorite by far -

Steroids isn't why they aren't in the game. All those guys have extremely high egos and won't give up their rights. At least not for what SDS is willing to pay
Yep anyone in pro sports uses steroids or something similar.

Also was the sole reason Gillick traded McGriff and Fernandez for Alomar and Carter. Which of course put them over the top! Cheers -

Huge letdown.. jk.. he was my favorite by farSweet swingin' Johnny O, so so dang good
Loved him. Had his poster, baseball glove, you name it. I was 9 when they won their first series so the perfect age. Just amazing how he never played a game in the minors..
Also was the sole reason Gillick traded McGriff and Fernandez for Alomar and Carter. Which of course put them over the top! CheersForgot that about Olerud not playing in the minors. And I love that they got Fernandez back eventually! Would love to see him in the game while we're talking about players from that era.
Heck yes! Would love a Tony Fernandez card! Lower power, but who cares! High contact, great defense, speedy, switch hitting SS! And one of the kindest dudes ever. RIP
If they can give Tom Glavine a heavy sinker then I'm sure they can give Tony Fernandez some pop! RIP indeed, he was just brilliant.

Steroids isn't why they aren't in the game. All those guys have extremely high egos and won't give up their rights. At least not for what SDS is willing to pay
Lol exactly, we have giambi, have had belle, gange, etc in game posters on here are low iq sometimes

How could you possibly know that
It's a matter of rights and when acquiring the right to their likeness some guys have a high price point cause of how the see them selves and their value in their own image. The 4 guys named all think very highly of themselves and what their image should be worth
Sosa would love to be in but the mlb has blackballed him, the 30 for 30 talks about how he wishes the cubs would call him and have him back at wrigley

They just need to put guys like Sosa, McGwire, Bonds/Stocker, Palmero, etc into the game already... I dont care about the [censored] steroids. It would be so awesome to be able to use these guys finally.
I dream of having MVP Caminiti manning the hot corner.

Carlos Delgado please!
Seems like he's kind of black balled. He's a borderline HOF'er that no one talks about come inductions time. Is he still on the ballot?
I know his best days were in Toronto, but we loved him here as a Met. -

I know his best days were in Toronto, but we loved him here as a Met.To be honest, he's just not a HOFer. Great hitter. Amazing peak. But short of 500 bombs, had injuries, subpar defender... 50 WAR guy. Just short.
He was just a class act though. And so intimidating with that awesome left-handed swing. Similar to McGriff

Sosa and McGwire would be awesome. Bonds isn’t happening. Some other 90s-early 2000s guys I think would be cool would be Garciaparra, Juan Uribe, Adrian Beltre, Vinny Castilla... oh and where TF is Juan Pierre this year?
Juan Gonzalez. 400 HRS and 1400 RBI Monster!!! That's coming from a Yank fan.

Yankees (70-43) were running away with AL and Montreal Expos(70-40) in the NL. Spos had Young Vlad , young Pedro, Moises Alou, Gary Carter, Cliff Floyd, Larry Walker.
Yanks had Mike Stanley (Good [censored] catcher who hit, hit, hit), Bernie, Mattingly, O'Neil, Danny Tartabull was a monster, Pat Kelley lol and had a deep bench. That would have been the WS IMO -

That 4 HR game is etched in my mind as an all-time great baseball moment. Gives me chills every time I think about it, because each bomb he hit was sicker than the last. Just unreal.
