Quick pitching is in to make the games faster online, same reason it doesn’t get all the bell and whistles presentation stuff that offline do. People have to wrap their minds around that when playing online; it’s not all about how you play the game, it’s to move things along. In NHL they used to (haven’t played in 2-3 years maybe it’s changed ) have all the presentation and replays and you’d get [censored] that would watch every second of it; very annoying.
your talking about broadcast presentation and fastplay. I get that they choose fastplay in online to speed up the game. I'm cool with that. But these guys want to speed up the pitching and hitting to where you have no time to think about the pitch count or situation. I don't want to play like that. I like a good flow to the game. not too slow, not too quick. I think SDS has this right and shouldn't change anything.
There is a big difference between pressing r2 to stop the quick pitch/slide step cheese and spamming r2 trying to get the pitcher to screw up. That is why they need to go back to the way it used to be where you could press it once during a pitch. Once you release pressing r2 again is disabled.
I think they should only be able to press it three times just like stepping off the mound. If I can not step off the mound after the third time opponent should not be able to press R2 after the third time. Balks are only with runners on base. When no one is on base you should be ready to hit, There is no situation to think about.

I just hate how some people slide step with a runner on base EVERY SINGLE PITCH. It completely messes with the physics of the game and makes the pitch very difficult to time up. Quick pitch/slide steps = very unrealistic
I agree. It's abused.
I never use the slide step

If they turned on balks like the way the game is supposed to be played, you all would be really crying. That's how this game used to be played. And it made the game so realistic. when you loaded the bases and got nervous, some people would balk. I even did that. With a runner on base, you needed to come set with your pitcher.
So just stop crying over this R2 thing. Some people don't want to play rapid fire baseball. they want to relax and enjoy playing.
I agree with your rapid pitching thing. I wouldn't mind the balk thing coming back if it was done correctly. I don't want a balk called just so the other team can get a free run. I also think R2 needs to be limited to one per pitcher. One time to see their arsenal is plenty. If you want to study where you are getting pitched, hit the pause button.
1 per pitcher? So we see his arsenal in the first inning but when 6th or 7th comes around and we want to check his stamina then what? Too bad we already pressed it? What if they did same thing with PCI feedback only once per game?

There's a very simple way around this. Select your pitch and wait 3 to 4 seconds to throw it. After you do that a few times, your opponent will get tired of it and stop pressing R2.
Not really, and then they just bunt dance just annoying. You got people who use R2 and bunt dancing even if you are not quick pitching. Because they can not hit.

No ranked is already long enough. Quick pitching is fine just learn to hit. Don’t take time out of my day to hold R2 each pitch.

Dude this is a really dumb take.... People don't r2 to prevent from quick pitching. They try and use it as a strategic move to get better pitches to hit. They try and time it so that you are beginning your motion so that it messes up your input. I don't qp and people r2 me all the time and they again time it when they think i am beginning my input and they don't start until after they haven't hit me for a few innings. If r2 was only allowed within the first second of the pitch then cool but it's not. It's allowed any time up until you are in the middle of your motion...It should not be able to be use once the pitcher selects the pitch

At the same time it makes the pitch equally unaccurate

I bet all the people complaining about R2 use it themselves. ha.
I bet this post describes you to a tee.

Just played an idiot that abused this and timed it perfectly late in the game. I left a changeup high in the zone and ball was sent out…

Supposedly. But then even when I square up a hanger it still goes nowhere

This seems the appropriate test group for this question. Thinking of changing the team name to, "R2Me2", thoughts?

I love R2 when batting
When its my 1st pitch against the guy and i dont know the pitcher and therefore dont know the pitches/speeds
When its at least my 2nd time round always before the first pitch i see what happened last time
I dont use it at any other timeI love R2 when pitching (not sure if that matters)
So i can ensure i dont follow the same pattern as the one before. -
I wish they would just take R2 out completely. Its not like we don't know what pitches pitchers throw. And if you don't, then you should have to press pause and use your time. Or step out of the batters box. Also I hope they don't add balks back into Multiplayer if they were to remove R2. But I would still rather play with balks enabled than to deal with R2 cheese. I've been lucky so far haven't ran into it, but the way it messes up pinpoint pitching when someone uses it once or twice a game. I could see it being game breaking if someone started spamming it.
