I dont know what planet yall live on where the pitcher dictates the pace of play lol, do you even watch baseball, as a serial r2er idgaf about your breaking animation, balking cry baby attitude, the batter dictates when he is ready to be pitched to just like irl, you wanna take r2 away and balk home 7 runs a game, im down for that too lol
Everything about this post is incorrect, but it is enough to tell your just a troll. Pitcher has the ball in hand which is why he dictates the pace of play. He chooses when he throws the ball. Hitter has no real say in pace of play, pitcher can step off whenever he wants, hitter can only step out and call time if granted by the umpire. Pitcher dictates how quickly he pitches after coming set, he can hold the set a long time to ice the hitter, or pitch the moment he establishes his set. He can choose to pick off a runner just to ice the hitter longer. I’ve seen guys pick over 4-5 times in a row just to ice the hitter in a key moment. So how exactly does hitter dictate pace of play again? By calling time and stepping out of the box “only if granted by the umpire”, that’s sure seems like the ump has more control over pace than the hitter does, and nowhere near as much as the pitcher....
What this guy said
Only once the batter steps in. Batter can take as much time as he likes to go for a stroll, take a swing or two, and step back in.
Not what's happening when R2 is being pressed/flicked/spammed. Everything just freezes. These analogies are such stretches because no one wants to admit that R2 doesn't really simulate anything in a game of baseball. It's not calling time, it's not the batter going for a stroll, and it isn't even the batter holding up his hand getting into the box because R2 can be flicked or pressed later in the at-bat (several times between pitches in my experience pitching). R2 is quite simply a game feature (not a gameplay feature) and its exploitative worth is superior to its feature content, judging by how often and when it's used.
What does balking on every pitch simulate in real baseball? Quick pitching is also a game feature, a cheesy one at that. One that too many players try and take advantage of and use the excuse of “I just want to get done quick”. Why play then? What does the pause button simulate in real baseball? I can’t remember the last time I was at a game and someone paused the action on the field to get a snack for 3 minutes.
Yeah I totally get that the game isn't a true simulation of a baseball game (obviously) but I will say this -- pitching (even if 'quick' -- which seems subjective) is actual gameplay. R2 isn't.
The pause menu is a separate category but at least gameplay isn't affected.
This makes no sense, R2 is gameplay because it serves a purpose which is obvious by many other replies. If you are talking about it affecting pinpoint I believe that is valid and should be remedied. Otherwise, the R2 complaints have no validity.

No, it's not gameplay. Could you play the game without pitching? No. Could you play the game without R2, which does nothing baseball-related except in the stretched imagination? Yes.

Why is this in the game? Someone from SDS explain this? Why not just always have the pitches show in screen. Just be honest you leave stuff like this in here to cater into the losers that want to play cheesy.
Stop quick pitching
There is no such thing as quick pitching in this game. Either you’re ready or you’re not. Pitchers dictate the pace of play.
Wth you talking about their is definitely quick pitching. And I don’t press r2 other than the first batter or so to see the pitches, then I won’t
"Quick pitching" implies pitching before a batter is even settled in and ready. A real thing in real baseball, but not in a video game. If it's so bad, then call time or pause. Much better than R2ing and throwing off a pitcher.
No in game quick pitching is selecting a pitch before batter can use any option available, like R3 R2 or a practice swing for there batter. Once a pitch is selected the batter cannot use those options at all. Therefore people hit R2 so they can check how fielders are setup.
Not the Majority of them.
What i'm explaining is an exploit period! You have no difinitive proof if majority or minority use it. And if you do provide the proof, not just because you say it's so.
I agree it is an exploit. The majority of the player I play use it.

This is complete fiction. The batter must step into to box when the pitcher is ready to make a pitch or accept the results of any pitch made while the batter is out of the box. The only time the batter has the right to do anything other than wait for the pitch to be delivered is with the permission of the umpire. Rule 6.02b explicitly states this. Have a good day!!!

There are 2 exploits so you are saying "it" when you should be saying "them" once again failure to acknowlege "Quick pitch exploit" only "R2 exploit." Yeah i vote close people are just trolling now. Go figure.
