Add gear to My Player??

Specifically, in Road to the Show. Can you add "cool" shoes before you reach the Show? I have a ton of coinage because I only play Road to the Show. Wondering how to spend it.

Is this because I am still in the Minors? Once, I reach the Majors, I can wear neon green Hi-tops, if I want to, right??

You can change the color of gear in the minors. Just go to appearance and select equipment. Lots of color combinations are available for all equipment not just cleats.
