Everyone is going to have their own opinion on this one but i truely believe at the end of the day this game is supposed to be fun for everyone at every level, its baseball! There are so many homeruns hit in real baseball now and i think it should be reflected in the game as well but i understand the problems it creates online. I feel the hitting should have been toned down more online and not so much offline where the grind is already real.
Moments and showdowns and conquest take forever in a nurfed offensive world and we all suffer the same, its psychological warfare with myself between being patient and hurrying up to get the mission done lol.
I just played my first couple games after the patch and its definitely alot less fun. I just want to have fun. Why must they tinker with such a core part of the game so early after its released. They tinker so often with the dynamics of this game its hard to play a full year without noticeable differences in feel.
Ive played every year since 06 but the last few years I feel the game has been amazing at launch then falls off as the year goes as far as gameplay. The content is amazing and the layers of gameplay is second to none, the team building and collecting is better then any sports game out there, its the gold standard but the fighting in the community over gameplay is unbelievable.
Online hitting should be tinkered with more often then offline, Id rather be able to finish missions with a consistent level of playing and online be more variable based on skill and team ratings.
Anyways thanks to anyone to take time to read my rant. Back to the grind! Be safe, be kind. Except to the astros, they still cheated! Go A's! And bring back pre patch hitting to the offline grind please and thank you.

I agree 100%. Every year I pray they don’t change the hitting at launch because the games are so fun for the first week or two but like clockwork, every year right after launch the hitting gets ruined. You’re right about it being less fun. It’s not like the game is not fun overall, but it’s so much more enjoyable before they do this EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Love you SDS, but please stop doing this lol.

You want to strive for realism as much as possible ... Yeah it’s a video game, but I want stats to reflect realism as much as possible... When you set the game to HOF or a legend hitting should be hard, contact difficult.. If it’s just a HR fest it’s not representing a simulation baseball game ... Might as well just play Mario baseball ...

I agree when you are talking about HOF or legend difficulty. But when you put out a patch note that simply says "Increase to hitting difficulty in Diamond Dynasty." you are affecting those who may already be struggling at All Star and lower difficulties.
You are telling offline players already struggling to finish the first inning Showdown that it will be harder now.

Yea the ones who really hurt the most are going to be the guys who are strictly offline and/or maybe not that great.

The problem is that Showdown is an all offensive mode, I was failing before the patch, they made hitting more difficult when people were struggling with an all offensive mode?? Not sure the logic there.

There is no logic. It was a knee [censored] reaction to some perceived issue before the general players, who have only had the game for 2 days, had even had a chance to have their input added to the data.
EDIT Wow their filter is aggressive

I 100% agree hof and legend should be realistic and very difficult, even for offline challenges but when im struggling on veteran to complete missions and get hits but then i play rtts on all star and crush it makes it very frustrating. Its a weird feeling knowing u tagged something and have it come up short when the night before it was no doubter.
I crushed a hanging curveball over the middle this morning, squared up good nothing goofy and it was a warning track shot, on veteran, it was my breaking point. I just wish i had more time this last weekend to get stuff done because it feels impossible now. Even conquest with a stacked lineup I cant score on all star when since launch ive had no problems winning. Just feels unbalanced now, just my opinion.

I play offline and I’m loving the new patch, I’m finally not pulling every thing nor am I early on a 98 MPH fastball on the outside corner. Now can hit lasers in the gaps for doubles as well as back up the middle. To me they swung the pendulum in the right direction and it’s more realistic.
